It’s been a while since we last served up a collection of the Media Research Center’s rampant transphobia — so long that we’re starting with a Sept. 3 post by Clay Waters complaining that violence against transgender people and those who support them was discussed (“cynically,” Waters wants you to believe):
The Thursday edition of the taxpayer-supported PBS NewsHour featured host Geoff Bennett cynically using two recent murders, one of a gay dancer and another an LGBT bookstore-owning ally, to bash Republicans as the perpetrators. Bennett spoke to the spokesman of the censorious Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to push their notion.
Bennett was so committed to the gender identity cause that he used the full “LGBTQ+” alphabet, which not even the radical GLAAD activist did!
Waters sneered that “Purported journalist Bennett took the leftist activist group’s numbers on faith,” though he offered no evidence that they were false.
Tim Graham spent an Oct. 3 post ranting that fact-checkers ignore right-wing ideology on transgender issues:
When it comes to the question of transgenderism being a mental illness, the “independent fact checkers” might need a new rating: “Factually Correct, Politically Incorrect.” When a man with male genitalia thinks he’s a woman, the people who pose as the Guardians of Fact say he’s not wrong. You’re wrong to say he’s mentally ill. Because the “Science” has genuflected to transgender ideology.
You can say “I’m in the wrong body” and the “fact checkers” will back you up. Gender-denying treatments are “gender-affirming.” Liberals think this doesn’t discredit their efforts. But it does.
PolitiFact joined The New York Times in “correcting” Vivek Ramaswamy after the latest presidential debate at the Reagan Library. Grace Abels, the LGBTQ-issues “fact checker,” is funded by the Gill Foundation, a radical LGBTQ philanthropy. As a student at Duke, Abels was a research assistant to PolitiFact co-founder Bill Adair.
[…]The “medical community” has been lobbied to change the “Science.” It turns out “facts” can be mangled to reduce “stigma.”
Chief transphobe Tierin-Rose Mandelburg, meanwhile, filled the rest of 2023 with her usual ideological hateful obsession:

Meanwhile, Jorge Bonilla spent a Dec. 17 post freaking out that a transgender person was allowed to 1) appear on TV and 2) answer a question:
NBC News has decided to join the NCAA, academia, and corporate retailers among the many institutions now complicit in the intentional erasure of women. Among the panel of Democratic women in Macomb County, Michigan featured on Meet The Press convened to discuss their reluctant support of Joe Biden, a trans woman.
Watch as the panel’s trans woman is coached into saying he’ll vote for Joe Biden, despite having deep reservations:
[…]It’s very subtle. No warning, Kristen Welker doesn’t make a big deal out of it- it’s just there. Dude in a women’s panel like it’s a normal thing.
I love everyone but I am not compelled to indulge everyone’s psychoses, nor will I become a co-participant in the intentional erasure of women.
Bonilla then tried to insist that the unhinged hatred of transgender people by himself and his fellow right-wingers is totally normal and “sane”:
There are many who will point to conservative (or sane) reaction to this segment as the broader stoking of an ongoing culture war, but the fact is that we did not seek this culture war. And now NBC is complicit in foisting this culture war upon us.
Bonilla offered no evidence that transgender people created a “culture war” (by merely wanting to exist?) or that he and his fellow right-wingers are not engaging in one by spewing their hate at them.
