Chief Media Research Center transphobe Tierin-Rose Mandelburg did her part to spread more anti-transgender hate and hysteria in a March 11 post:
Huntsville, Alabama is known for a few things, but one of its major “claim to fame” facts is that it’s the home of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. It also has a Space and Rocket Center that holds exhibits like the Saturn V and hosts a Space Camp during the certain parts of the year for young kids interested in all things space!
This year, parents are terrified to send their children to Space Camp because one of the staff members, Molly Bowman, is a transgender individual with a history of being a freak. Bowman is set to serve as a team lead and a hall monitor for the camp and has access to the girls dorms, despite being a biological male.
I, myself, lived in Huntsville, Alabama for a number of years. Luckily, given that the state is in the Bible belt of the south, I didn’t have to bump into many transgender freaks. I saw the post this morning on a friend’s Facebook page, and since then many outlets have commented on the heinous situation.
Clay Yarbrough, a father who lives in a very reputable part of Huntsville, Owens Cross Roads, posted his concerns on his Facebook this past weekend warning about Bowman’s involvement with Space Camp.
Spewing transphobic hate doesn’t make either Mandelburg or Yarbrough “reputable.” And they labor to keep the hate going, with Mandelburg huffing, “Yes, this man will be chaperoning young kids at a sleep-away camp.”
But as an actual news organization found, Yarbrough never accused the employee of misconduct — he just wanted his hate to spread, and the Marshall Space Flight Center pointed out that “camp staffers undergo extensive nationwide criminal background checks, are not allowed behind closed doors alone with students, and are not allowed to discuss religious topics or politics, among other issues.”
But the witch hunt was on. Mandelburg did acknowledge some of those inconvenient (to her) facts, but tried to keep the fearmongering up, baselessly insisting that “given the fact that Bowman considers himself a girl, it’s likely he’ll have full access to these spaces where young girls sleep and bathe.” No proof is offered to back this up, but such vicious haters like Mandelburg don’t need proof to spread their hate.
and Mandelburg made the goal of the witch hunt explicit: “Not only does Bowman need to be fired, but whoever hired him should be fired too. Until then, keep your kids out of Huntsville’s Space Camp!” Again: This is based on nothing but hate and fear that Mandelburg has been inculcated with, and she wants her irrational transphobia to spread — and the MRC is paying her well to spread her hate.
Still, the hateful witch hunt hysteria ultimately paid off: Despite no evidence of misbehavior, Bowman was transferred to another job. Mandelburg didn’t write about this development, but we assume she’s quite pleased that her hate helped to baselessly ruin someone’s life.
