Given the overall homophobic bent of the ConWeb, it’s not a surprise that parts of its would embrace an Idaho’s bar mocking of Pride Month by creating a “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month.” Bob Unruh was totally down with it in a June 3 WorldNetDaily article:
As Joe Biden appoints lesbians, homosexuals, transgenders and more who boast about their alternative lifestyle choices to key, influential – and lucrative – federal posts, it’s taken a bar in Idaho to bring the issue back to reality.
It is the Old State Saloon in Eagle, Idaho, that has confirmed its celebration of the inaugural “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month.”
“For without them, none of us would be here!” the company pointedly notes.
The company’s announcement explains “June will be OSS’s inaugural Heterosexual Awesomeness Month! Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here! Each Monday will be Hetero Male Monday and any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will receive a free draft beer. Each Wednesday is Heterosexual couples day and each heterosexual couple will receive 15% off their bill. More events to be announced…”
Joe Biden, in fact, has made the promotion of alternative sexual lifestyle choices one of his main term goals.
He’s made homosexual Pete Buttigieg a federal transportation official, lesbian Karine Jean Pierre his spokeswoman and Rachel Levine, a man who calls himself a woman, a health official.
The Idaho bar, in fact, is trolling the nationally recognized “Pride Month” in June where leftists and progressives celebrate those lifestyle choices, according to a Gateway Pundit report.
Note Unruh’s biased wording in describing failure to be heterosexual as the result of “alternative sexual lifestyle choices,” though he offers no evidence that any such orientation is a “lifestyle choice.” He also doesn’t explain his apparent belief that Buttigieg or Levine are lesser human beings because they aren’t heterosexual.
Unurh also uncritically repeated a statement from the bar calling the owner “brave,” even though there’s nothing inherently brave about being heterosexual or hating everyone who’s not.
Newsmax had the bar owner on in a June 4 segment:
The bar owner who named June “Hetero Awesomeness Month” at his establishment in Eagle, Idaho, told Newsmax on Tuesday his promotion was about celebrating his “belief system,” not someone else’s.
Mark Fitzpatrick, owner of the Old State Saloon, joined “Rob Schmitt Tonight” to talk about his answer to Pride Month and the reaction that’s followed.
“It’s like overnight we’ve become the heterosexual headquarters for the country, it seems like,” Fitzpatrick told Schmitt.
[…]Schmitt asked how Fitzpatrick arrived at the promotion.
“We were coming up on June, and I’m looking at that month and, with my belief system, you know, I don’t want to be forced into celebrating something like that. Nobody should be able to be forced to celebrate something that you don’t agree with,” Fitzpatrick said. “I do want to say — I want to get this out there — I do love all types of people and everything, but just because you love somebody doesn’t mean that you should have to get behind everything that they decide to do.
“And so as we’re pushing that month, I just wanted to provide a different type of a celebration that’s more God honoring and celebrates the way that God designed man and woman to be sexually attracted to each other and to procreate and all the things that come with it,” he said.
Schmitt apparently didn’t ask why he apparently hates gay people so much, or how he determined that being heterosexual is part of a “belief system.”
