MRC Cheers Trump’s New Revisionist COVID Propaganda

Posted on May 16, 2025

Gabriela Pariseau cheered the Trump administration’s revisionist COVID propaganda in an April 25 Free Speech America post:

The Trump White House is doing the very thing that the Biden administration forbade Americans from doing: telling the truth about COVID-19.

Trump has once again demonstrated his commitment to undoing the Biden administration’s censorship designs for America. The most recent example is the White House’s new landing page (COVID.gov) detailing the likely origins of COVID-19 and calling out the failures of the federal government, the World Health Organization and others. Quoting a House Oversight Committee report, the White House stated, “the Biden Administration resorted to ‘outright censorship—coercing and colluding with the world’s largest social media companies to censor all COVID-19-related dissent.’”

As we pointed out when WorldNetDaily similarly hyped it, the new COVID website is a mess of loud graphics, conspiracy theories and outright falsehoods, and that House Oversight Committee report the website is based on was a partisan joke run by Republicans. And yet again, Pariseau is pushing the bogus narrative that correcting COVID-related misinformation equated to “censorship”:

From X/Twitter to YouTube, Meta, Amazon, LinkedIn and others, Big Tech platforms silenced no fewer than 45 individual doctors and medical researchers, many of whom were censored multiple times for sharing their discoveries and clinical experiences.

For months, users could not utter the words “ivermectin” or “hydroxychloroquine” on Twitter and YouTube. And Meta, ferociously fact-checked posts that could potentially lead to “vaccine hesitancy,” something Americans now know was at least in part at the behest of the Biden administration.

Pariseau conveniently cited none of the details of those “45 individual doctors and medical researchers” purportedly “sharing their discoveries and clinical experiences,” thus refusing to admit they were likely incorrect or completely wacky. She also doesn’t explain why people should be provided false hope by demanding uncritical promotion of medications that have proven to be ineffective.

Pariseau went on to cite “the Murthy v. Missouri lawsuit, which cited MRC” as a purported example of “The Biden administration’s ability to sway Big Tech companies by using the full weight of federal power.” As we documented, Murthy v. Missouri was a case ginned up by right-wing activists in an attempt to prohibit the federal government from addressing lies and misinformation — an argument even the conservative-leaning Supreme Court rejected.
