Root, Reagan Cheer Transphobic Fencer, Censor Facts That Discredit Her

Posted on June 4, 2025

Wayne Allyn Root spent his April 5 WorldNetDaily column cheering a transphobic fencer, weirdly likening her to Rosa Parks:

Remember Rosa Parks? She took a stand to bring attention to racism and discrimination against black Americans by sitting at the front of a bus – at a disgraceful time in America’s history when blacks had to sit at the back of the bus. Bravo.

Rosa Parks is an American hero.

Remember the #MeToo movement? Feminists said women have a right to say “no” to sex with a man. Men need the female’s permission. It’s not up to the man. A woman has a say in what she does or allows with her body. “No means NO.” Remember all that?

Stephanie Turner is a hero like Rosa Parks.

Stephanie is an American female fencer. She just struck a blow for female athletes’ rights. She kneeled and refused to compete at a fencing tournament against a male transgender fencer claiming to be a woman.

For that heroic action, Stephanie was given a “black card.” That means she was disqualified and kicked out of the tournament. Other females fenced this man (making believe he’s a woman). Only Stephanie was courageous enough to take a knee and refuse to compete against a man.

This was a Rosa Parks-like act of courage.

Stephanie is correct. Science proves there are only two genders in this world – male and female. You can’t change the way you were born. A man who thinks he’s a woman is still a man. And a man who surgically changes into a woman is also still a man. He/she/it has male muscles and testosterone coursing through its body. It’s a man.

First, no man, or transgender woman, should ever again be allowed to play sports with female athletes. Period. That practice should be banned from women’s sports forever.

Secondly, even if it’s still allowed in some deep-blue Democrat states with insane, radical, communist political cowards making the rules, no girl or woman athlete should ever be forced to play sports with a man.

Michael Reagan served up similar praise for Turner (and hatred of transgender people) in his April 5 Newsmax column:

Stephanie Turner a 31-year-old fencer competing at The Cherry Blossom Open in Maryland — a hotbed of transgender hysteria — didn’t have that advantage [of “other teammates the women could depend on for support when the cultural counterattack began”].

She was all alone, but she had her faith in God.

When her, in reality male opponent prepared to begin the fencing match, Turner took a knee and told the referee, “I’m sorry, I cannot do this. I am a woman, and this is a man, and this is a women’s tournament. And I will not fence this individual.”

Naturally, the vociferously obnoxious gender fanatics controlling USA Fencing dropped the hammer on Turner.

Dan Zaksheske, who reports for Outkick.com, has the details, “Due to her actions, Turner was given a ‘black card,’ the most severe penalty in fencing.

That meant she was disqualified from the tournament, had to be escorted off the premises, and could face suspension from future events.”

Turner is at peace with her decision because she first consulted God. “Turner said that, in the past, she would simply avoid events that had transgender fencers competing.

But in this case, she decided to leave it in God’s hands.

Neither Root nor Reagan mentioned certain important facts about Turner, as reported by Media Matters:

  • A week earlier, she competed in a coed fencing tournament, in which she won several bouts against male fencers.
  • In the tournament in which she performative refused to compete against the transgender fencer, she finished 24th out of 39 competitors.
  • After her forfeit, Turner received $5,000 from anti-trans organization XX-XY, suggesting she did it for the money.

Nevertheless, Root belabored his dubious Rosa Parks comparison:

It’s important to note that Rosa Parks was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Thank you, Stephanie. You’re my hero. Let’s hope Stephanie’s courageous act inspires millions of American female athletes to take a stand against men participating in any way, shape or form in women’s sports.

Reagan concluded his column by declaring that “it will take more women like Stephanie Turner who aren’t afraid to go it alone — temporally at least — to end this madness.”
