WND Cheers Discontinuing Secret Service Protection For Hunter Biden, Harris

Posted on October 18, 2025

WorldNetDaily hates it when the Secret Service is too aggressive in investigating, or not sufficiently protecting, its ideological fellow travelers. For instance:

  • A May 2024 article by Bob Unruh groused that “the U.S. Secret Service investigated a man for doing no more than making jokes about the Bidens.”
  • A July 2024 article by Unruh pondered: “Was it the ‘diversity’ demands imposed by leftists in the Secret Service bureaucracy that somehow failed Trump?”
  • An April 21 article by Joe Kovacs groused: “An Easter family dinner turned into a nightmare for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, as she was robbed of at least $3,000 at a Washington, D.C., restaurant despite having Secret Service protection.”
  • A Sept. 10 article whined that “shouting Code Pink protesters got so close the president of the United States in a D.C. restaurant Tuesday night as he dined with members of his Cabinet,” prompting a right-wing congressperson to rant, “Where was Secret Service and was there someone in Secret Service that leaked his location?”

But when it comes to WND’s ideological enemies losing Secret Service protection regardless of the threats that may continue to face, it’s totally cool with that. Kovacs cheered in a March 18 article:

President Trump is suspending all Secret Service protection for Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer,” Trump said Monday evening on Truth Social.

“There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous! He is currently vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the Human Rights of people has been strenuously questioned.

[…]

“Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list.”

An anonymously written Aug. 29 article similarly cheered:

A report at the Gateway Pundit describes how the statutory Secret Service protection for a former vice president like Kamala Harris extends for six months after leaving office.

Joe Biden had put the taxpayers on the hook for paying for an extra year of those expenses.

Now they’re canceled.

The report explains, “President Trump struck another blow against his 2024 Presidential rival, even as she considers another desperate bid for the presidency. As CNN reported, Trump revoked Kamala Harris’ Secret Service protection on Thursday.”

[…]

The Gateway Pundit charged, “How unsurprising that Biden and his handlers would make a mockery of the law once again.

Isn’t Trump the one making a mockery of the law by canceling Harris’ Secret Service protection out of petulant anger instead of actual security concerns? The anonymous author didn’t address that.
