Newsmax’s Ruddy Still Trump-Fluffing

Posted on July 6, 2026

Newsmax chief Christopher Ruddy is all about Trump–fluffing, and he does more of that in a May 3 TV appearance:

Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said Friday that President Donald Trump’s welcoming of King Charles and Queen Camilla, including a “historic” state dinner, only strengthened the U.S. alliance with Great Britain.

Ruddy, who was a guest at the state dinner this past Tuesday night, described the evening to “American Agenda” hosts Katrina Szish and Bob Brooks.

He said the white-tie event, hosted by Trump and first lady Melania Trump, was “an amazing night” that created a strongly “positive vibe” between the two leaders and their respective nations.

[…]

Ruddy noted Trump’s longstanding ties to Britain, including his Scottish-born mother and business interests in the country, including two world-rated golf courses.

“He has great emotional ties to Great Britain because of his mother, his family, and American history,” Ruddy said of the president.

Ruddy did it again in a May 21 column:

For months now, much of the mainstream media has tried to sell Americans on the idea that President Donald Trump is politically weakened, economically vulnerable and somehow disconnected from the public mood.

Yet once again, the elites are making the same mistake they’ve made for nearly a decade: underestimating both Trump and the American people.

Mark Twain famously said, “Statistics don’t lie. People do.”

The modern version may be even more relevant: “The polls don’t lie — pollsters do.”

No word on whether Ruddy feels that say about his preferred pollsters, the McLaughlins. Instead, he continued to gush over Trump:

The economic gains are real. The tax relief is real. The stronger labor market is real.

But in an age of nonstop media hostility, accomplishments cannot simply speak for themselves.

The establishment keeps betting against Trump because it still does not understand the movement behind him.

Trump’s supporters are not simply responding to rhetoric. They are responding to his results.

And he has many good ones to share.

Ruddy made the same pro-Trump point on his channel the following day:

Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy defended President Donald Trump’s economic record during an appearance Wednesday night on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” arguing that strong economic indicators are being overshadowed by biased media coverage and misleading polling data.

[…]

Speaking with host Rob Schmitt, Ruddy said the mainstream media has failed to properly recognize what he described as a series of significant economic wins for the Trump administration, including record stock market highs, easing inflation, lower unemployment, and broad tax relief for American families.

It was also revealed that Rudy is, in fact, sticking with the McLaughlins because they say what he wants to hear:

According to Ruddy, Newsmax consulted pollster John McLaughlin, who found that only 29% of those surveyed had voted for Trump, despite Trump winning nearly half the vote in the last election.

“If you look at polls that are honest, they’re all still in the mid-40s for the president,” Ruddy said. “In this political environment, that’s a pretty good number.”

Shorter Rudy: Trump’s polling looks good only if you pre-select Trump fans like him.
