MRC’s Fondacaro Tries To Distract From Trump-Epstein Link By Ranting About ‘The View’ Link

Posted on July 28, 2026

We’ve documented how resident Media Research Center hate-watcher of “The View” Nicholas Fondacaro did a highly selective investigation of people on TV who had links to Jeffrey Epstein in an effort to distract from President Trump’s links to him — largely focused, of course, on “The View.” Fondacaro went off on this again in his Feb. 17 hate-watch of “The View”:

Two weeks after NewsBusters broke the story that ABC News moderator Whoopi Goldberg, was not only referenced in the Epstein files but also seemingly, requested to borrow Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet to get to a charity event for The White Feather Foundation, The Viewfinally discussed the matter.

Never addressing why HIS jet was requested, the rest of the cast came to Goldberg’s defense, claiming she didn’t fly anywhere, and trying to put the focus on President Trump instead.

Furthermore, they failed to address major points brought up in NewsBusters’ reporting: the request came five years after Epstein was convicted and the charity’s websites said Goldberg did indeed fly to the event and was the master of ceremonies.

As they were diving into yet another segment trying to link Trump to Epstein’s crimes, Goldberg made her admission of being in the files; claiming she was doing it “in the name of transparency.”

If it was truly being done in the name of transparency, they could have addressed it after NewsBusters brought it to their attention two weeks ago. Instead, they refused our multiple requests for comment and sat on it.

Fondacaro made sure not to mention that his goal in reporting this story was to distract from Trump’s links to Epstein, not conduct any actual reporting. He also ignored the likelihood that he’s a bad-faith activist, not a real reporter, which accounts for his complaint that “ABC News and The View did not respond to NewsBusters’ renewed request for comment.”

Fondacaro also huffed that “Previously on the show, Goldberg had made it clear on the show that Italy was her favorite place to visit when they’re not producing the show. She had also flown to Italy to meet Pope Frances [sic] along side other comedians, and she flew to Italy to guest star on an Italian soap opera.” Surely Fondacaro knows that the pope is not a woman.

Fondacaro’s tirade continued in a Feb. 19 post:

More than two weeks after NewsBusters broke the story and two days after initially trying to explain away why ABC News moderator Whoopi Goldberg requested to borrow Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet, The View offered up some new excuses for why their co-hosts were in the files. On Thursday’s show, Goldberg’s story completely changed and co-host Joy Behar claimed she only learned that she was at a party with Ghislaine Maxwell from our reporting.

The View kicked off the show by talking about the Epstein files, particularly the arrest of Prince Andrew for allegedly sharing confidential files with Epstein. But it was Behar who wanted to get back to clearing their names.

In NewsBusters’ original reporting about The View co-hosts being in the files, we noted that Behar was included on a guest list for a “William Astor’s dinner” that was also attended by Epstein’s partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell.

According to Behar, our reporting was the first time she heard that Maxwell was at the party. She also lamented that she didn’t know everyone who also attended the Trump wedding she once went to either.

Fondacaro didn’t explain why he limited his Epstein attack to his enemies in the media and not his friends such as, say, Donald Trump.
