Newsmax’s post-IPO self-promotion spree continued in a May 5 press release:
Newsmax Inc. (NYSE:NMAX) announced Tuesday a major milestone in its digital expansion, surpassing 25 million followers across all social media platforms.
Newsmax’s continuous and significant growth in social media followers — up 25% from a year ago — underscores the brand’s accelerating reach and deepening engagement with audiences nationwide.
The company reported 25.4 million total social media followers, driven by strong growth across nearly every platform.
[…]“This growth shows that Newsmax is truly touching a nerve with audiences,” said Christopher Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax. “We are continuing to execute on our strategy to reach all people on all platforms, and the results speak for themselves.”
[…]The company attributes its growth to a combination of timely news coverage, opinion programming, and a strong connection with viewers seeking fresh perspectives in the media landscape.
“Passion for our brand remains incredibly strong,” Ruddy added. “We’re seeing audiences actively seek out Newsmax across platforms, share our content, and become part of a growing community that values our reporting and viewpoint.”
Newsmax followed up with another press release two days later:
Newsmax Inc. (NYSE:NMAX)announced today that the company continues to deliver strong audience growth across its cable channel, streaming services, digital properties, and social media platforms — further solidifying its position as one of America’s fastest-growing news brands.
Now carried on all major cable systems, Newsmax has significantly expanded distribution over the past year with the addition of Hulu Live TV while also successfully renewing all major existing pay-TV agreements, including with DISH, Verizon, Mediacom, FUBO, Optimum, and Charter.
[…]Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said the company’s multiplatform strategy is clearly delivering results.
“Our strategy is working. We are continuing to build audiences and engagement across every platform and for every audience,” Ruddy said.
“We have a tremendous foundation in the pay-TV ecosystem, and as ratings continue to grow, so do our cable affiliate revenues.”
The head of Newsmax himself popped up on a Newsmax TV show on May 21 to tout his company and engage in some extracurricular Trump-fluffing:
Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy defended President Donald Trump’s economic record during an appearance Wednesday night on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” arguing that strong economic indicators are being overshadowed by biased media coverage and misleading polling data.
Ruddy also detailed Newsmax’s own growth as an insurgent media company after a positive Annual Shareholders’ meeting this past week.
Speaking with host Rob Schmitt, Ruddy said the mainstream media has failed to properly recognize what he described as a series of significant economic wins for the Trump administration, including record stock market highs, easing inflation, lower unemployment, and broad tax relief for American families.
Ruddy told Schmitt: “Mark Twain famously said, statistics don’t lie. People do. And I think the modern version of that is polls don’t lie. The pollsters do.”
We presume Ruddy isn’t talking about Newsmax’s favorite lying pollsters, the McLaughlins. Instead, he touted Newsmax’s growth:
Ruddy also highlighted for Schmitt the company’s strong financial performance, audience growth, and expanding reach across cable, streaming, and social media platforms as Newsmax (NYSE: NMAX) positions itself as one of the fastest-growing television news brands in the country.
“A lot of media companies have seen declines,” Ruddy said. “Newsmax was up double-digits not only last year, but in the first quarter of this year.”
[…]Ruddy also noted that millions of Americans abandon legacy media companies and migrate toward streaming options like Newsmax2, the company’s streaming channel and the Newsmax+ service.
“Cord cutting has been tremendous,” Ruddy said. “A lot of people are going to Newsmax, to our streaming service, our Newsmax+.”
Unsurprisingly, nobody was allowed to contradict Ruddy.
