WorldNetDaily writer Bob Unruh began an April 14 article with yet another tirade against his home state of Colorado:
Colorado Republicans have selected a Christian church pastor and a Christian ministry leader to run off for their party’s nomination for governor this year.
The selection by 2,000 delegates at the GOP conference recently of Scott Bottoms and Victor Marx to run off for the gubernatorial nomination creates a stunning opportunity for state residents to change the direction their leaders have been pushing them.
After all, the current governor, multi-millionaire Jared Polis, proudly brags about his homosexual lifestyle. And a key Democrat wanting to replace Polis is Phil Weiser, the state’s attorney general, who has been at the forefront of a long list of state attacks on Christians in the state.
Officials there under Polis’ extremist agenda have attacked Christian counselors, and are in the process of launching a second assault, Christian web designers, Christian bakers, Christian camps, Christian preschools and more.
The state has been leftist to an extreme since several billionaires met, agreed to take over the state’s politics and donated thousands strategically to put the Democratic Party in control of the governor’s office and legislature.
They’ve made abortion a state constitutional “right,” have worked to change “taxes” into “fees” so they could be raised in violation of a state constitutional limit, even schemed to try to remove President Donald Trump from the 2024 presidential ballot. (That plan was shot down by the U.S. Supreme Court).
Unruh offered no examples of Polis — about whom he is weirdly obsessed — having bragged about his “homosexual lifestyle” (and he didn’t explain how, exactly, being gay is a “lifestyle”). It wasn’t until the 11th paragraph of his article that Unruh got around to the ostensible reason for his article’s existence: hyping the Republican primary for Colorado governor. He wrote of one candidate:
The second candidate is Victor Marx, a Christian ministry leader and former marine, who promised adherence to the First and Second Amendments, rebuilding infrastructure, and keeping boys out of girls’ sports.
Unruh hid the fact that Marx — who won the Republican primary — has a history of fantastical claims, which as claiming to have killed a man at age 7. He also claimed to have rescued 45,000 people from various circumstances, a claim that was later removed from his campaign website after people started looking into it. Instead, he gushed more about Marx: “He’s been described by columnists as a black belt artist and former Marine, of holding the world record in speed for disarming someone holding a gun to his head – at 4 seconds.”
An April 28 article by Unruh similarly lashed out at Colorado:
There is now an explanation for Colorado’s agenda to hate Christians.
In recent years, especially since homosexual Gov. Jared Polis took office nearly eight years ago, the state repeatedly has attacked Christians.
It tried to force a baker to violate his Christian faith. It tried to force a web designer to do the same. It tried, in a blatant move violating the First Amendment, to censor and dictate the speech of counselors.
It lost each time at the Supreme Court, costing the state’s taxpayers millions of dollars in wasted legal costs.
It currently is at the Supreme Court, and it expected to lose again, because it has adopted a rule that discriminates against Catholics by refusing their preschools access to a benefit program that is generally available to others.
The reason? Simple.
It’s because the “liberals” in Colorado “believe Christians deserve it.”
That’s the conclusion of commentary writer Timothy P. Carney at the Washington Examiner.
He explained, “The Democrats in charge just can’t stop unconstitutional religious discrimination.”
In other words, it’s just a biased opinion by a right-wing writer, not actual fact. Still, Unruh continued his tirade:
In fact, since several billionaires back 20 years ago decided, essentially, to buy multiple state legislative seats through extraordinary campaign donations, the state has been run by Democrats, even though the division of voters for a long time was about one-third each of Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Independents recently have been gaining numbers.
The Democrats run the governor’s office, and all state agencies through his appointment of leftists, have the majority in the state House and Senate, and even have a massive majority on the state Supreme Court, where justices were so far into promoting Democrat talking points they tried, unsuccessfully, to keep President Donald Trump off the 2024 election ballot.
Unruh offered no evidence that those billionaires actually tried to buy state legislative seats, which is why he threw in the “essentially” qualifier — because he can’t prove it actually happened. Indeed, Unruh refused to talk to a state official for a response to Carney’s biased commentary.
Unruh was still freaking out over Colorado in a May 20 article:
A Democrat in Colorado, running for Congress in a swing district, has been accused of turning scofflaw because he filmed a “campaign” spot inside the Colorado Capitol.
That’s forbidden by state law, which prohibits elected officials from using state resources, including their access to state buildings, for campaigning.
It is a report at the Free Beacon that outlined what happened when Manny Rutinel, a Democrat, filmed a “confrontation” in which he badgered Rep. Gabe Evans, a Republican from Colorado’s 8th District.
Unruh didn’t mention that the Free Beacon is a right-wing publication that is primed to attack Democrats like Rutinel.
