Because it’s the Media Research Center’s job as a Trump Regime Media outlet is to defend everything President Trump does, it rushed to fluff and defend the UFC event on the White House lawn. Intern Jorge Bonilla had a meltdown in a May 26 post:
It is worth noting that NBC ran no such items on the Nightly News, choosing instead to devote its White House time to covering preparations for the upcoming UFC Fight Night at The White House. We learned that walkouts to the Octagon will depart from The Oval Office. Some are already calling this card the worst-ever desecration of The White House, as if the Biden administration didn’t host that one Topless Transgender Day- which the Elitist Media didn’t cover, either.
Why is Bonilla so obsessed with transgender people? He doesn’t explain.
Siena Do groused in a May 28 post, similarly obsessed with transgender people:
According to the leftist media, every move that President Trump makes must be likened to any other act of evil or brutality that was ever recorded in history, no matter how ridiculous the comparison. Lawrence O’Donnell, host ofThe Last Word on the failing network MS NOW, followed this rule without hesitation on his Wednesday night broadcast. O’Donnell claimed, laughably, that “Donald Trump is desecrating the White House grounds to build a temple of violence,” as if Trump was some kind of Roman emperor.
O’Donnell must have forgotten that Biden actually desecrated the White House by allowing a man with fake breasts to go topless on the lawn. He also forgot that the Ancient Romans never built “a temple to violence.” They did, however, build the famous Colosseum and other amphitheaters where violence was displayed on a near daily basis.
[…]While falsely smearing the President for not knowing the history of the United States, O’Donnell didn’t know the basic differences between a theater and a temple. We should pray that he doesn’t walk into a Broadway theater expecting a worship service, or into St. Patrick’s Cathedral for a Shakespeare performance.
Do continued to lash out at O’Donnell:
We just celebrated Memorial Day, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation. America’s powerful military has been constantly involved in violent conflicts around the world, and over 1.3 million American service members have laid down their lives in its service. And yet, O’Donnell, who never served in the military, claimed that it was not about combat and even attacked “men like Donald Trump” who “have never engaged in physical combat themselves.”
The next day, it was Nicholas Spinnato’s turn to whine:
On Thursday’s Morning Joe, amid a discussion of MS NOW analyst Eddie Glaude’s new book on “how race shadows the nation’s anniversaries,” Rev. and PoliticsNation host Al Sharpton picked up on a Glaude point on the UFC Fight Night at the White House as part of a “hyper masculine” story of the anniversary and bizarrely equated the bouts to “fights for the slave masters.”
The segment focused on the country’s 250th birthday, but the panel seemed skeptical of the Trump Administration’s frame of celebrating the story of America.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Glaude about how Americans should see in the country’s past and present and how to “celebrate the Nation’s 250th, especially given the moment that we’re in?”
Glaude focused on “the vast diversity of the country,” and continued, “They’re going to tell a story of America where people like me, people like Rev., others, people like you. We play minor bit parts.”
He called the administration’s framing of the anniversary a “hyper-masculine story, with the UFC fight on the White House grounds and all of this stuff,” before he said, “It’s going to be a romance, a storybook story.”
The MRC tried to make some hay out of Sharpton’s comment, nominating it for a “worst media quote of the week” nod and having Geoffrey Dickens listing it as an allegedly example of how “the media elites have revealed their real feelings about this country. But it made no effort to prove him wrong.
Nicholas Fondacaro had his own rant in his June 5 hate-watch of “The View”:
With America’s 250th birthday coming up next month, ABC News co-host Sunny Hostin went on an anti-American rant during Friday’s episode of The View. Hostin, who once said she felt more comfortable in Ghana than America, proclaimed she was “embarrassed” by many things about the country that gave her the privilege to be a multimillionaire TV co-host. She even asserted that America was a “failed experiment” in self-governance.
While reacting to the UFC stage being built on the White House lawn, Hostin raged at America and ranted about how “embarrassed” the country made her.
Fondacaro didn’t explain why Hostin — and America — shouldn’t be embarrassed by Trump’s spectacle.
