Newsmax, as a Trump Regime Media outlet, hyped President Trump’s ill-fated plans for a concert featuring washed-up musical acts. It also brought that same slavish attitude to Trump’s overall plans to mark America;s 250th anniversary. That included self-promotion in a June 26 article by Carly Mayberry:
The story of how faith shaped America’s founding, history, and moral compass, the belief that rights come from the Creator, not from government, is the subject of Newsmax’s latest original documentary, “God and America’s 250th.”
The documentary premieres Sunday, June 28, at 9 p.m. ET.
Based on the book “Celebrating Our Founder at America’s 250th Birthday” by prayer leader and author Cynthia Scott, the film details God’s role in the establishment of the United States.
It emphasizes that the United States’ first right is religious freedom and examines the American system of self-governance and liberty, rooted in biblical principles and how that perspective has allowed the nation to prosper.
[…]Among other topics, the program explores how the Declaration of Independence states that all people are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, as well as the challenges America faces from forces both within and beyond its borders.

Given that Mayberry’s article references only Christianity — and the only listed participants apparent Christians — it’s unclear whether Newsmax believes in the actual concept of religious freedom.

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., said President Donald Trump’s visit this week to the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and his planned appearance Friday at Mount Rushmore underscore the nation’s yearlong America250 celebration and the significance of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
Speaking Friday on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” Hoeven described Trump’s visit Wednesday to the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library near Medora, North Dakota, as an enthusiastic kickoff to the semiquincentennial observance, which culminates in nationwide Independence Day events.
“Oh, fantastic. We had a great day with him on Wednesday,” Hoeven said. “I met him in Bismarck. We helicoptered out here and then toured the library. Sneak peek of this great library.”
[…]Hoeven also drew comparisons between Trump and Theodore Roosevelt, saying both leaders shared similar backgrounds and leadership styles.
“And another thing I would point out, it’s remarkable the similarities between Teddy Roosevelt and President Trump,” Hoeven said. “Both come from New York. Both came from affluent families, but both very much identified with the working man, with the farmers and ranchers. I mean, that’s how Teddy Roosevelt got out here, is he came out here to ranch.”
He concluded by praising Trump’s leadership and encouraging skeptics to witness the celebrations firsthand.

Trump delivered his remarks after 11 p.m. ET, after being delayed by over an hour due to lightning and heavy rains. But Trump said he would not be deterred in celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
“If we have to speak in front of one person at four in the morning, I’m going to be here,” Trump said in a speech streamed live on Newsmax. “There’s no way we can be deterred.”
