WorldNetDaily writer Bob Unruh continued his tirades against his home state of Colorado by merging it with his hatred of transgender people in a June 3 article:
The public school district in Jefferson County, Colorado, has plunged head-first into the LGBT ideology, specifically transgenderism, and has been sued over its activism already.
It routinely assigns males and females to share rooms – even beds – on school trips, and then tells parents the genders are kept apart on different hotel floors, failing to explain that a boy who says he is a girl is treated like a girl.
There’s about to be a payment for such behavior, which the federal government has described as an “indifference” to the federal Title IX law.
A report posted on line at Fox explains the U.S. Department of Education now has issued a warning letter to officials in the Jefferson County district.
It follows the federal department’s determination a few weeks ago that the district probably put up to 61 male students on sports teams for girls.
Rather than give the school district an opportunity to respond, Unruh attacked a previous statement made by the district by ranting:
Further, the schools claim that the extreme leftist agenda on the state of Colorado, which has attacked Christians for their faith, demanded to control the speech of counselors, tried unsuccessfully to control the faith statements of business owners, pushed LGBT ideologies everywhere under the guidance of homosexual Gov. Jared Polis, and more, requires them to subject girls to boys in their locker rooms.
Unruh raged the same day in a separate article:
It’s not surprising that a homosexual governor, like Colorado’s Jared Polis, would put a high priority on promoting his personal LGBT ideology.
Democrat lawmakers and officials in the leftist state have been fully in support of his agenda, imposing pro-LGBT speech and belief requirements on cake bakers, web designers, counselors and more.
But it’s also not surprising the U.S. Supreme Court has struck down that state’s agenda, over and over, most recently in a case involving Christian counselors, costing its residents millions of dollars in wasted legal fees and costs. The state demanded that counselors promote the LGBT ideology to clients, but were they were forbidden from speaking in opposition to that, even when that was in the client’s best interests.
It appears the state has a longer learning curve than has so far been allowed: It is moving forward on a list of new speech code requirements and censorship obligations for counselors.
According to a report at the Washington Stand, Polis has signed a bill and issued an order expanding “a civil cause of action against and bars state funding from so-called ‘conversion therapy.'”
The report explains, “Colorado was not about to give its counselors free rein to seek the best interests of young people.”
In that decision involving counselors, the Supreme noted, the term “conversion therapy” can refer to “physical techniques such as electric shock therapy aimed at changing an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity,” but the Colorado law “reaches further, forbidding ‘any practice or treatment … that attempts … to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity,'” including simply talk therapy.
[…]So Colorado is retaliating, with “Civil Actions for Conversion Therapy Survivors Act.”
The report noted, “The obvious purpose of expanding the right of civil action for those who encountered counseling unfriendly to the LGBT agenda.”
Colorado simply edited some terms in its law with “more neutral-sounding definitions.”
Unruh has long tried to rebrand conversion therapy into something benign. He went on to huff that “Polis signed the law ‘as a recognition of LGBT Pride Month,’ in which he uses the resources of the state to promote his personal ideology” without explaining how, exactly, not being heterosexual is an “ideology.”
Unruh’s anti-Colorado rants continued in a June 6 article:
Colorado, under a hard and sometimes abusive leftist agenda driven by homosexual Gov. Jared Polis, has a long history of deliberately setting rules and requirements that violate the First Amendment.
But multiple losses at the Supreme Court, in its assaults on the constitutional rights of bakers, web designers and counselors, may have delivered a realization it was butting heads with a really big opponent.
So it has decided to pull back from its latest attempt to control the thoughts and minds of residents.
This case involved its new requirement that private lawyers in the state who want to access the state’s court system “pledge under penalty of perjury not to assist federal immigration enforcement.”
What does Polis’ sexual orientation have to do with the issue at hand? Unruh doesn’t explain — but he sure has a thing for making a point of it.
