The Media Research Center is a loyal Trump Regime Media outlet, so it has loyally peddled right-wing scaremongering over socialism over recent months. For instance:

Intern James Waterman whined about the socialist card being played on his fellow right-wingers in a July 21 post:
Recently, the Democratic Party has found itself divided between the establishment wing of the party and a new, much more radical gang of socialists calling for revolutionary changes to party policy. After welcoming the socialist faction into the Democratic Party with open arms the previous day, on Tuesday’s Morning Joe, MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough did a complete 180, attacking “socialist Republicans” for being the real communists in a bizarre and hypocritical rant.
Irate that Republicans were calling out the Democrats were embracing the socialist faction that openly embraces Communist figures like Mao Zedong and Karl Marx, Scarborough shouted about how Republicans were somehow the real socialists:
[…]In his ridiculous attack against President Trump’s “socialist” policies, Scarborough appears to have forgotten his freakout about Trump’s cuts to government spending. In fact, everything he accuses Trump of is really just a projection of his own positions.
[…]When Scarborough referenced the administration “seizing tech companies,” he was likely referring to the government’s move to buy minority stakes in a number of U.S. tech giants. Is investing in the stock market is socialist now?
When such purported investment is targeted to specific companies, then, yes, it is considered socialist. Waterman failed to bring up the Freedom Fuel stations promoted by the government, which sure sounds a lot like the socialism the MRC purports to hate.
