The Media Research Center still wasn’t done complaining that media coverage of the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham didn’t adhere to right-wing standards. Intern Siena Do complained in a July 14 post:
It’s usually a bad idea to speak ill of the dead, especially soon after a person’s passing. But MS NOW instead danced over Republican Senator from South Carolina Lindsey Graham’s grave before his body was even laid in it. On Monday’s episode of Money, Power, Politics, host Stephanie Ruhle platformed three guest panelists to shamelessly drag the late Senator’s name through the mud.
“I remember him being a very important person. I’m not sure he’ll be remembered as great,” former Ambassador and Democratic Representative Sean Patrick Maloney set the general tone for the rest of the segment. While he granted that Graham “could be great fun in person,” he also slammed him for being “willing to follow where power led” and failing “to make the difficult choice to be somebody who truly stood for something throughout his career.”
The only action of Graham’s that Ruhle and the panelists were willing to praise was the late Senator’s insults of President Trump. CNBC contributor Dan Nathan bizarrely claimed Trump didn’t have a policy agenda: “I think politics won over policy. He really didn’t have a lot of policy that resonated with the American people.”
Do went on to grouse about guests being “Most Disrespectful of a Dead Man” without mentioning that the MRC was quite disrespectful after the death of ABC’s Peter Jennings.
Curtis Houck whined about a podcast:
Tuesday’s I’ve Had It covered the death of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), so there were bountiful epithets from co-hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan about the “homicidal,” “demonic war hawk” “Lady Graham” having marked his final days in Ukraine gripping a drone what “looks like a big, giant, black c***” and now has “all of these sex workers that he worked with…NDAs” that aren’t “really applicable anymore.”
After Welch giggled about “wanting to watch the wall-to-wall coverage of this” because “this is great,” she cued up a still photo of Graham visiting a Ukrainian drone factory, which she asserted was “the last known photograph that Lady Graham took” in which he’s holding a drone that “looks like a big, giant, black cock.”
[…]These miserable women returned to Graham’s passing later in the show after Welch declared “MAGA men” possess “low” testosterone and “high” estrogen because “they’re submissive, hysterical, emotional” men who are “freaking out” about anyone giddy over the senator’s passing.
Houck didn’t mention right-wing podcasts that say nasty things about liberals.
Alex Christy similarly complained about another podcast:
Over the past year-and-a-half, former MSNBC host Joy Reid has transferred her professional crazy person persona to her podcast, but on Monday, Reid took the shtick to the next level. While dancing on Sen. Lindsey Graham’s grave, Reid twice gleefully declared that Graham is now in hell.
Reid opened her show in a cheerful mood as if her favorite football team had just won the Super Bowl, “I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend where you definitely had a better week than the Republican Caucus in the United States Senate because hell opened its doors for at least one more. So, we’re going to talk a little bit about that.”
Christy then served as an apologist for Graham:
For most of his career, Lindsey Graham was the old-fashioned type of senator who would vote for any Supreme Court nominee, regardless of party. However, after the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process, Graham realized Democrats were not reciprocating and, a few years later, voted against Ketanji Brown Jackson. In Reid’s mind, that makes Graham a vile racist, “This is somebody who, I don’t know if I was—Ketanji Brown Jackson’s a far better person than me by—be particularly mourning. He was one of the most snide, mean, horrific interrogators of black nominees in front of his Judiciary Committee, a horrible man in so many ways.”
Nicholas Fondacaro served up his daily hate-watch of “The View”:
Proving they were truly just miserable crones, on Wednesday, ABC News co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar raged at Darline Graham after she was pointed to fill her brother Lindsey Graham’s South Carolina Senate seat. Ignoring the fact that it’s fairly common for close relatives to be appointed to their loved one’s seat following their death, those cast members of The View suggested there was something seriously wrong with South Carolina, suggested a doctor couldn’t be a senator, and called Graham a “DEI” hire.
Amid their conversation, and after they played a soundbite of Graham’s emotional acceptance speech, Hostin snapped. “I don’t love it. I don’t love it,” Hostin declared.
Hostin fully supported Vice President Kamala Harris being appointed the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee without an election. Yet, she couldn’t stand for Graham’s temporary appointment ahead of a special election.
Given his enthusiasm for hate-watching “The View,” Fondacaro is whatever the male equivalent of a “miserable crone” is.
