Newsmax Mamdani Meltdown Watch

Posted on August 3, 2026

Newsmax’s Mamdani meltdowns continued in a May 19 article:

Nancy Pelosi may have served decades in Congress, but her political legacy could also include her recently endorsed candidate to replace her in the House.

The former House Speaker has backed Connie Chan, a San Francisco supervisor, for her seat based on a mix of political, ideological, and strategic reasons.

Pelosi said she sees Chan as aligned with San Francisco Democrat values.

The article itself doesn’t even mention New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, but the article’s headline calls Chan the “‘Mamdani’ of San Francisco,” apparently because she supports, in part, “expanded social services such as fare-free public transit and extended food assistance programs.”

Sam Barron groused the same day:

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani declined to say he would revoke the city-issued press passes of three women who say they support Luigi Mangione.

Abril Rios, Ashley Rojas, and Lena Weissbrot said outside a Manhattan courthouse Monday that the children of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was shot on a Manhattan sidewalk in December 2024, were “better off without him.”

“I know it’s a little inflammatory, but the American people are really mad about the health insurance industry,” Weissbrot told the New York Times.

The trio call themselves “Mangionistas,” and displayed their New York City press credentials.

[…]

Mamdani said the city would review its process of credentialing people.

“We will initiate our own process to review these, and what I will say is there is a good-natured debate to be had about where a press pass should extend and where it shouldn’t,” Mamdani said at an event in Queens.

“However, the three people that we are talking about don’t fall within that debate,” Mamdani added.

Newsmax gave a Mamdani-hater a platform in a May 30 TV appearance:

Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., said Saturday on Newsmax that Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s decision to skip New York City’s Israel Day parade is the mayor “playing directly to stereotype,” predicting political fallout for a break with six decades of City Hall tradition.

“The fact is, many New Yorkers and Americans believe he’s an antisemite,” Lawler said on “Wake Up America Weekend.”

“And the fact that for the first time in decades, the mayor of New York City is refusing to attend the Israel Day parade, where New York is home to the largest Jewish population outside of the state of Israel, just speaks volumes to his conduct, his rhetoric, and those he associated himself with.”

Mamdani, sworn in this year as the city’s first Muslim and South Asian mayor, will be the first sitting New York mayor since 1964 to bypass the Sunday march up Fifth Avenue, an event billed as the largest celebration of Israel outside the Jewish state.

Lawler said he would march in the mayor’s place.

Writer Jim Thomas buried the fact that Mamdani “accused the Israeli government of genocide in Gaza” — which neither Thomas nor Lawler offered evidence to dispute — and said he would protect the safety of parade participants.
