As a loyal Trump Regime Media outlet, WorldNetDaily regularly inveighs against abortion in general and the abortion pill in particular. Last year, for example, it hyped how “Texas authorities have delivered cease-and-desist letters to groups and organizations that are shipping the deadly abortion pills into the state” and touted a poll by highly biased right-wingers at McLaughlin & Associates claiming that “Huge numbers of Americans want to roll back Joe Biden’s pro-abortion agenda” that eliminated “a doctor’s visit before abortion chemicals are prescribed.”
That activism continued to this year as well. Bob Unruh wrote in a May 1 article that is mostly a tirade at the Biden administration, though he refuses to admit that Joe Biden was actually president:
A federal court has released a ruling that blocks the mail distribution of the deadly abortion drug mifepristone.
According to a ruling from a panel at the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, the state of Louisiana likely will win its challenge to the rule adopted in 2023 by Joe Biden’s administration.
Promoting abortion was one of the key agenda points of the Biden administration, another being promoting transgenderism for children.
The ruling is temporary but it’s a first step in a campaign to limit access to the drug, which has been targeted in a long list of lawsuits.
The 2023 regulation removed a requirement that mifepristone be dispensed in person, meaning that under the Biden plan, men could order the drug and give it to women who did not suspect they were being forced into abortions.
Unruh offers no example of that ever happening. Instead, his tirade continued:
Telehealth “appointments” for obtaining the deadly chemical were authorized during the COVID pandemic and Biden then pushed to finalize rules that opened the mail-order free-for-all.
“Every abortion facilitated by FDA’s action cancels Louisiana’s ban on medical abortions and undermines its policy that ‘every unborn child is a human being from the moment of conception and is, therefore, a legal person,'” said the decision from the appellate level court.
CNN reported that a lawyer with the pro-abortion Reproductive Freedom Project insisted the decision “defies clear science.”
The Trump administration has promised a federal review of the current regulations but has stopped short of reinstating the mail order ban.
When the Supreme Court issued a ruling supporting mifepristone via mail, Unruh fretted in a May 15 article:
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that at least for now, dangerous and deadly chemicals used for abortion can continue to be mailed across state lines into states that otherwise restrict the abortion industry.
Carol Tobias, chief of National Right to Life, called it a “deeply troubling” result.
“Woman facing unexpected pregnancies deserve real medical care and support, not a one-size-fits-all mail-order abortion system that minimizes risks and leaves women isolated during medical emergencies,” she said.
Joe Biden had ordered the expansion of the use of the drug, mifepristone, through telehealth procedures, meaning a woman never needs to be evaluated by a physician before an abortion business prescribes the deadly drug.
Louisiana and other states have been in court to argue the practice is dangerous, and while the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked those mailings, the Supreme Court said they could continue.
“When abortion drugs can be ordered online with minimal medical oversight and shipped directly to homes, women become more vulnerable to coercion, manipulation, and exploitation,” Tobias said. “There have already been disturbing reports of abusive partners obtaining abortion drugs and administering them to women without their knowledge or consent. A regulatory system with weaker safeguards makes these crimes easier to commit and harder to prevent.”
Again, no specific examples of “abusive partners obtaining abortion drugs and administering them to women without their knowledge or consent” was provided. Unruh continued to repeat the rants of others:
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, a former Louisiana state representative, said, “The Court’s action today perpetuates the Biden-era murder by mail policy that undermines the right of states to protect life and endangers women. This policy, left in place by the Trump FDA has driven an estimated 21% increase in abortion.
“The fight for life will not stop, and I am confident the state of Louisiana will not back down from their responsibility to uphold their duly enacted laws protecting the unborn. For those who were hoping the Court would kick this can down the road, the Court did– right into the fall’s election.”
If Perkins insists that abortion is “murder,” why doesn’t he demand that every woman who has ever had one be arrested and imprisoned (and possible executed) for committing murder? Unruh doesn’t explain. He also refused to interview anyone who supported the court ruling, and he didn’t explain why he insists on calling mifepristone a “chemical,” even though he doesn’t use that descriptor to all medicine, which are also technically “chemicals.”
