The Media Research Center hasn’t just attacked Apple’s news service — it has also lashed out at Apple TV for the offense of not peddling right-wing narratives. In a Nov. 3 post, for instance, Dawn slusher complained that a TV executive on the Apple TV show “The Morning Show” claimed that mainstream media is a “corporate tool of the white center-right” (but was happy that she also said that “DEI doesn’t work. “).
Slusher complained in a Feb. 14 post:
In the latest episode of Apple TV+’s Shrinking (“D-Day”), which ironically aired during National Marriage Week, a heartwarming scene between Harrison Ford’s Paul and high-school senior Alice (Lukita Maxwell) turns sour when she declares she wants kids but no husband, because marriage is a “sexist construct.”
Cue the eye rolls. This isn’t clever writing. It’s Hollywood’s calculated jab at society’s cornerstone, courtesy of liberal elites pushing so-called “empowerment” while dismantling family values.
Slusher went on to lecture:
Hollywood’s propaganda-normalizing anti-marriage mantras in lighthearted scenes targets impressionable teens. It convinces girls that ditching marriage leads to fulfillment, not loneliness, with Netflix and cats as your only companions. This erodes bonds, encouraging delayed or skipped marriage, and it’s fueling America’s crisis: plummeting marriage and birth rates.
Marriage rates are collapsing. The U.S. rate hit 6.1 per 1,000 in recent data, down sharply from historical highs. This decline isn’t harmless. Out-of-wedlock births are 40% of all U.S. births, with about 34% of kids in single-parent families.
Economist Melissa Kearney, author of The Two-Parent Privilege, shows kids from married two-parent homes have far better outcomes: lower poverty (often just 5% in married households vs. much higher in single-parent ones), better academics, and reduced behavioral issues. Children are more likely to be exposed to violence, crime, and abuse when there is just one parent, and children in married households perform much better academically.
Crime surges where families fracture. The Institute for Family Studies’ 2023 Stronger Families, Safer Streets report found cities with high single-parent households had 48% higher total crime, 118% higher violent crime, and 255% higher homicides (across 600+ cities, 2015–2019). In Chicago, high-single-parent areas saw 137% higher total crime, 226% higher violent crime, and 436% higher homicides — patterns tied to father absence, even controlling for poverty and race.
Delayed marriages hammer fertility, down to 1.6 kids per woman in 2024, well below the 2.1 replacement level. Fewer births mean populations shrink which leads to slower growth, stalled innovation, strained entitlements for seniors, and weaker social ties with fewer family connections.
Shows like Shrinking aren’t progressive, they’re regressive, chipping away at America’s strength. What they call “sexist construct” is actually America’s saving grace.
Slusher concluded: “We must push back: tax incentives for marriage, education on its benefits, and calling out this anti-marriage propaganda. Because if we let Hollywood continue to redefine family, we’ll all pay a heavy price.”
Slusher found something she liked in another Apple TV show in an April 17 post:
Pro-life messaging is rare in Hollywood, especially with Planned Parenthood’s involvement in many productions. Yet Apple TV’s new dramedy Margo’s Got Money Troubles, hailed by Time as “the must-see show of the spring,” features surprisingly powerful pro-life moments and even acknowledges abortion is “terminating a life.”
She then lectured:
Ironically, it’s pro-lifers who offer real choice- parenting or adoption. “Pro-choicers” only offer one option- abortion. As pro-aborts frantically raise money for abortion access and travel, they completely ignore women in need who choose life.
The reason is obvious. Abortion is a major source of revenue. Pro-lifers provide financial, emotional, and material support because they don’t exploit vulnerable women for profit. And they don’t try to scare mothers into believing the only path to success is over the dead bodies of their children.
Slusher didn’t mention how anti-abortion activists like her have exploited women.
Two days later, Slusher groused:
Last season, Apple TV’s drama Your Friends and Neighbors sparked outrage over a blasphemous scene mocking the Holy Eucharist in a Catholic Church. This season, their target is capitalism as young, smug teen Tori (Isabel Gravitt) goes on a liberal rant in an interview with a college admissions official at Princeton University.
In episode 1, “We’re Here Until We’re Not,” Tori meets with a university official to discuss her goals as a potential student. She’s a legacy candidate since both her mother and father are Princeton graduates, which drives her to deliver a smug, disrespectful, liberal soliloquy. It was apparently supposed to be a mic-drop moment but instead came off as nonsensical, entitled and disrespectful:
And Slusher is not being nonsensical, entitled and disrespectful? Unsurprisingly, this sets Slusher off on another right-wing lecture:
Tori needs an education in what capitalism really is and what it’s done for the world, including lifting billions out of poverty, extending life expectancy, reducing child mortality, and creating the very technologies environmental extremists such as herself rely on to measure, track and address ecological issues.
The clean energy innovations, medical breakthroughs, and global supply chains that keep people fed didn’t come from socialism. They came from markets, incentives, competition and innovation.
Of course, there are downsides. Any system involving humans will have them. But alternative systems such as socialism or heavy centralized control have historically produced far worse outcomes like stagnation, scarcity, and, ironically, environmental devastation on a massive scale. Because when no one owns anything, no one takes care of anything.
As far as claiming Ivy League schools are “riddled with systemic racism, anti-Semitism, and sexism,” it’s a bit laughable given how aggressively progressive colleges and universities are now. If anything, it’s white people who are discriminated against as these institutions overcorrected and swung too far the other way from the days of racism towards people of color.
Modern Ivy League schools now prioritize ideological conformity and identity politics to a degree that sidelines merit and true inclusion for all. The anti-Semitism is sadly true, however, because it’s the left that has grown increasingly hateful toward Israel and Jewish Americans after Israel’s retaliation for the October 7 massacre in Gaza. Democrats are also divided over funding for Israel now in light of the war on Iran.
As if Slusher herself is not demanding ideological conformity to her personal right-wing views.
