WorldNetDaily writer Bob Unruh keeps up his war on his home state of Colorado for not being as right-wing as he is in a March 4 article:
A federal judge holding court in the far-left political enclave of Colorado has announced a decision to dismiss counts against the Mountain West Conference in a lawsuit by former San Jose State University women’s volleyball co-captain Brooke Slusser over the situation that forced her to share locker room and motel room spaces with a man.
But the case continues against San Jose State and the California State University system. Further, it all is on hold pending a determination from the U.S. Supreme Court on what is allowed in such situations where education bureaucrats use students to promote their transgender agenda.
Judge Kato Crews, operating in the leftist environment in Colorado where the governor’s office, held by homosexual Jared Polis, both houses of the legislature and even the state Supreme Court all are controlled by the Democrats’ agenda, dismissed Slusser’s claims against the conference, leaving counts against the school and state system intact.
Unruh is so obsessed by the fact that Polis is not heterosexual that he feels the need to point out his sexual orientation in every article that references him.
Unruh raged again at Colorado in an April 2 article:
Anti-Christian leftists in Colorado’s government tried to take over the speech of a highly respected cake artist and force him to parrot their LGBT fantasies.
They lost, at the Supreme Court, and Colorado taxpayers were on the hook for the losing fight.
Then those same anti-Christian leftists in Colorado’s government tried to take over the speech of a popular website designer and force her to preach their LGBT ideologies.
They lost again, at the Supreme Court, and Colorado taxpayers again were on the hook.
It happened again just days ago, when the Supreme Court struck down Colorado’s “law” that told counselors they could promote the LGBT ideologies to clients, but could not tell them of the option of learning to live their lives in the sex they were born.
That Colorado officials wildly and incorrectly characterized as “conversation therapy” as counselors were not “converting” anyone, just discussing with clients their choices and options.
Unruh and WND have long tried to redefine anti-LGBT conversion therapy as anything but. and as usual, he refers to Polis as “a homosexual married to a man.” HJe also failed to explain why he considered being gay or transgender to be “ideologies” and “fantasies.”
Unruh’s anti-Colorado hate continued in an April 7 article:
The Babylon Bee, the popular satire website, recently poked fun at Colorado’s penchant for getting the U.S. Constitution wrong, over and over. And over.
Multiple times the state has wasted taxpayer money – millions of dollars – trying to impose its LGBT religious beliefs and accompanying speech code on a Christian baker, a Christian web designer, and a Christian counselor, among others.
It has lost each time at the Supreme Court in often unanimous rulings.
Which all prompted the Bee to sarcastically explain the Supreme Court “issued an official statement … begging the state of Colorado to please just be normal for once.”
The satire “quoted” Chief Justice John Roberts: “Can you guys just not be weird this one time? You can’t make people bake gay cakes. You can’t make people make gay websites. You can’t make people call a boy a girl. I’m spending ninety percent of my life now telling you guys that you can’t force people to do gay stuff. It’s exhausting. Why can’t you be normal? Chill out, Colorado.”
The “report” then confirmed the court was thinking about “setting up a new court just to overturn whatever Colorado does.”
Yes, Unruh summarized a satire article as “news.” But he soon turned serious:
The humor is there, but the problem is much deeper. In fact, according to constitutional expert Jonathan Turley, whose advice on the Constitution at times has guided the actions of Congress, the state is going down a horrible path.
“Colorado’s tourism slogan, ‘it’s our nature,’ has a menacing meaning for free speech advocates. Colorado is now arguably the most anti-free speech state in the union, pushing an array of measures attacking those with opposing social and political views,” he explained. “The irony is that the state has proved a bonanza for free speech with spectacular legal failures that reaffirmed rather than restricted the First Amendment. Now, the Democratic legislature and governor are back with new unconstitutional measures, including a requirement that lawyers not share information with federal immigration officials as a condition for filing with state courts.”
He noted the Democrats in the state, at the time filling all seats on the state Supreme Court, tried to ban President Trump from the 2024 ballot, only to be slapped hard by the U.S. Supreme Court including every liberal justice.
Unruh again referred to “homosexual Gov. Jared Polis.”
