Bianca Gracia laid the victimhood on thick in a Jan. 16 Newsmax column:
The recent exoneration of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on all 16 impeachment articles is a monumental victory, not just for Paxton but for all Texans standing against the corrupt beyond-left Biden regime.
This sham trial, costing taxpayers a jaw-dropping $4.3 million, was nothing short of a desperate attempt by Speaker of the House Dade Phelan and his soldiers to undermine the Texas House and topple the only Texan brave enough to confront the Biden administration’s disastrous policies.
From the start, this trial was a farce, driven by spite rather than justice. The impeachment managers, blinded by their allegiance to the Democrats, led a charge that betrayed every Texan, especially those in Hispanic communities along the border.
[…]The trial’s outcome is a damning indictment of the partisan politics plaguing our state. It exposes the sinister motives of the deep state operatives and their political cronies who were willing to drain public resources in a vindictive crusade against a steadfast public servant.
Paxton stood unwaveringly for Texas values and pushed back against federal overreach, only to be targeted by those who seek to destabilize our conservative stronghold.
As with other Paxton defenders, Gracia refused to discuss what, exactly, Paxton did to get impeached. As others have reported, Paxton has been accused of a “yearslong pattern of corruption, including abusing his office’s powers, retaliating against whistleblowers and obstructing justice.” But Gracia is more interested in playing political games than ridding Texas state government of corruption:
Ken Paxton’s acquittal is a watershed moment for conservatives nationwide. It’s a stark reminder that, despite the deep state’s conniving tactics, the truth can still triumph.
As Texans, we have a crucial role to play. We must go to the polls from February 20 to March 5 and decisively vote the Dade Phelan regime out of office. It’s time to send a clear message to Biden and the nation: You Don’t Mess with Texas.
Gracia failed to explain what “truth” supposedly triumphed because Paxton was acquitted — it was a political proceeding, not a legal one, so all that mattered is that Paxton was able to strongarm enough Republicans to vote for acquittal. She also failed to explain why taking action against a corrupt state official warrants removing Phelan from office.
Gracia, by the way, is a member of Latinos for Trump and is notorious for introducing Enrique Tarrio of the Proud Boys to Stewart Rhodes of the Oath Keepers before the Capitol riot. She rather soundly lost her bid for a Texas House seat in the March 5 primary election; Phelan, meanwhile, didn’t win a majority of votes in the primary and will face a May runoff to keep his House seat.
