Newsmax’s enthusiasm for anything that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth continues unabated, despite the fact he doesn’t really say anything new or actually newsworthy at his rallies. It got two articles out of a Feb. 22 rally in South Carolina, which it made sure to note “aired live on Newsmax”:
- Trump in S.C.: We’re Coming for Biden Like a Freight Train
- Trump in S.C.: Only Way Dems Can Win Is With Rigged Election
It got a couple more rallies out of a March 2 rally in Virginia, “which aired live and in its entirety on Newsmax and the Newsmax2 streaming platform”:
- Trump: Biden Will Be ‘Convicted by the American People’
- Trump: ‘I’m the One That’s Ending the Threat to Democracy’
There was also a March 16 rally in Ohio which, again, “aired live and in its entirely on Newsmax and simulcast on the Newsmax2 online streaming platform”:
- Trump Taunts: ‘How About a Couple of More Indictments, Joe?’
- Trump Opens Ohio Rally With Salute to Jan. 6 ‘Hostages’
Writer Eric Mack failed to tell readers that the Capitol riot insurrectionists are not hostages — they are criminals.
Trump also appeared on Newsmax on March 13 in an “exclusive sit-down” with host Greg Kelly, and generated several articles out of that:
- Trump to Newsmax: Voters Want My ‘Fight’
- Trump to Newsmax: Europe Must ‘Equalize What We’ve Spent’
- Trump: Even Democrats Want to Be My VP
- Trump Warns TikTok Ban Might Only Enrich Facebook
Interestingly, Newsmax did not devote any articles to other things Trump whined about during the interview that were arguably more newsworthy. Fortunately for us (not necessarily for Newsmax), another outlet did:
- Trump Declares, ‘Nobody’s Been Treated Like Trump in Terms of Badly’
- Trump Tells Newsmax He Took Government Documents ‘Very Legally and I Wasn’t Hiding Them’
- Trump Claims Bill Clinton Stored Classified Material ‘In His Socks’ and Hillary Destroyed Emails With Actual Acid
- ‘They Have A Hat!’ Trump Slaps Back At ‘Overconfidence’ Charge — By Citing ‘Trump Was Right About Everything’ Merch?
That last item was apparently the only challenging question Kelly served to Trump — and even then, it was more of a softball than a challenge.
