WorldNetDaily got suckered again by the Gateway Pundit into publishing yet another bogus article. This time it’s a Nov. 24 piece by Cristina Laila:

Trump carried the down ballot and flipped several blue counties red in California, however, two Democrat candidates have pulled ahead nearly 3 weeks after the election and will likely flip the two seats blue.
Democrats are working to unseat two Republican incumbents in California nearly 3 weeks after Election Day: John Duarte in District 13 (central valley) and Michelle Steel in District 45 (Orange County).

Laila is lying — and she’s hiding facts to cover up the fact that she’s lying. At no point does Laila bother to explain what it meats to cure ballots, though she was quick to falsely portray it as devious and illegal. In fact, it’s perfectly legal, as a legitimate news organization reported:
Christine Pelosi is one of many Bay Area volunteers who have headed to the Central Valley to “cure” ballots in an incredibly tight House race. On Wednesday afternoon, after a few days of volunteering in the Merced area, she was “staking out” a Modesto home with a colleague, hoping to connect with a voter whose ballot was rejected over a signature problem, she told the Chronicle.
[…]John Arntz, director of the San Francisco Department of Elections, said that ballot curing involves voters completing a form that verifies their signature that can be returned by mail, email or in person to have their vote counted.
Kim Alexander, president of the California Voter Foundation, a nonpartisan voting organization, estimates that across California, only about 50% of ballots that can be remedied are cured.
Alexander said that signature problems can affect first-time and younger voters who have not yet developed a regular signature or are unaware that the signature on their ballots will be compared to the signature on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Pelosi also noted that one candidate’s ballot had to be cured because signatures didn’t match.
Laila and Gateway Pundit — and, by extension, WND — should issue an apology to Pelosi for falsely accusing her of helping to steal an election. But none of them care enough about reporting facts to correct the record.
