WorldNetDaily writer Joe Kovacs just loves it when President Trump issues tirades against media outlets and people he doesn’t like. Kovacs touted one rant in a Feb. 26 article:
In a Wednesday morning social media posting spree, President Donald Trump vowed to sue “dishonest” authors, book publishers and media for their use of anonymous and off-the-record quotes he believes are fake.
Trump said on Truth Social: “As a President who is being given credit for having the Best Opening Month of any President in history, quite naturally, here come the Fake books and stories with the so-called ‘anonymous,’ or ‘off the record,’ quotes.
“At some point I am going to sue some of these dishonest authors and book publishers, or even media in general, to find out whether or not these ‘anonymous sources’ even exist, which they largely do not.
“They are made up, defamatory fiction, and a big price should be paid for this blatant dishonesty. I’ll do it as a service to our Country. Who knows, maybe we will create some NICE NEW LAW!!!”
Kovacs didn’t mention that his employer has a long history of using anonymous sources (and sometimes anonymous reporters hiding behind a fake name).
Kovacs cheered Trump’s huffiness again in a May 12 article:
President Donald Trump unleashed his disdain on a top network reporter Monday who asked him about Qatar gifting America with a $400 million 747 aircraft that may be used as the new Air Force One until shortly before he leaves office.
“What do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you?” ABC News senior political correspondent Rachel Scott asked Trump during a signing ceremony for an executive order designed to slash prices for prescription drugs. “Why not leave it behind?”
Trump instantly responded with an attack on Scott and her network, saying: “You’re ABC Fake News right? Because only ABC – well, a few of you would. Let me tell you. You should be embarrassed asking that question.
“They’re giving us a free jet. I could say no, no, no, don’t give us … I want to pay you $1 billion or $400 million or whatever it is or I could say thank you very much.”
Another media-bashing rant got Kovacs’ attention in a May 18 article:
President Donald Trump is threatening fresh legal action against ABC News for what he calls “misleading” and “fake” news coverage of Qatar’s gift of a luxury 747 jet to America.
In a late-night post on Truth Social Saturday, Trump wondered: “Why doesn’t Chairman Bob Iger do something about ABC Fake News, especially since I just won $16,000,000 based on the Fake and Defamatory reporting of Liddle’ George Slopadopolus. He was given warnings, but just couldn’t be restrained by ‘management.'”
“Now I see they are at it again, and I again give these SleazeBags fair warning!
“The wonderful country of Qatar, after agreeing to invest more than 1.4 Trillion Dollars in the United States of America, deserves much better than Misleading (Fake!) News.”
More media whining followed in a June 23 article:
Not thrilled with mainstream media coverage of U.S. strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities on Saturday, President Donald Trump on Monday erupted against some of the biggest names in American news.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it.
“Only the Fake News would say anything different in order to try and demean, as much as possible – And even they say they were ‘pretty well destroyed!’
“Working especially hard on this falsehood is Allison Cooper of Fake News CNN, Dumb Brian L. Roberts, Chairman of ‘Con’cast, Jonny Karl of ABC Fake News, and always, the Losers of, again, Concast’s NBC Fake News.
“It never ends with the sleazebags in the Media, and that’s why their Ratings are at an ALL TIME LOW — ZERO CREDIBILITY!”
Kovacs dutifully wrote up another Trump tirade in a June 30 post:
President Donald Trump, who is famous for calling out “fake news” among national reporters, has just dropped a verbal bomb on Dan Alexander of Forbes Magazine, calling him an “untalented writer” whose publication “continues to hang around like a bad disease.”
In post on Truth Social Monday, Trump said: “Not that it really matters, but a terribly untalented writer for badly failing Forbes Magazine, Dan Alexander, who probably can’t get a meaningful job in the business, has written so inaccurately about me that it is ridiculous.
“Many others also, the media is mostly Fake News, but Forbes doesn’t even try to get things right. I haven’t spoken to these SleazeBags in years, they don’t want the facts, and they’re so inaccurate (purposely!) about everything.
“I would have thought Forbes would be DEAD by now, but it continues to hang around like a bad disease. Isn’t it owned by a hostile nation?
“Anyway, that’s what happens when you have bad reporters with evil intentions. Eventually the publication dies. I’ve happily seen it over, and over, again!”
Needless to say, Kovacs made no attempt to give Trump’s target an opportunity to respond to his attacks.
