Michael Brown Quietly Returns To WND

Posted on July 20, 2025

When last we saw Michael Brown, he was taking a sabbatical from public ministry — as well as his WorldNetDaily column — after old allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a secretary at a revival movement he was a part of resurfaced. Well, it has been decided that Brown has been punished enough; an “elder accountability team” recommended in May that Brown be allowed to return to ministry, according to Ministry Watch. While acknowledging Brown’s offenses, the elders also “condemned as unbiblical those who ‘relitigated with accusations, judgment, and sentencing by a jury on social media’ and caused ‘irreparable damage to Dr. Brown’s credibility and ministry.” Is that a reference to us? It seems that Brown is the one who created that damage through his own actions.

Anyway, that clearance means Brown is back to writing his WND column. WND did not report on this development, nor did Brown acknowledge it; he simply started cranking out columns again. Brown served up some of his usual anti-LGBT social commentary in his first column back, on June 7:

As many of us have been predicting for years, America is now witnessing a major pushback against a radical cultural agenda that overplayed its hand. Nowhere is this clearer than in the current administration’s decision to ax Pride Month in June and to replace it with Title IX month. (Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination in education programs and activities at institutions that receive federal funding, most notably applied to ensuring equal opportunities in school sports for women.)

[…]

So, not only has Pride Month itself been rejected officially by the White House, but by designating June “Title IX Month,” the administration is declaring war on radical transgender activism.

All this is good and healthy and positive in terms of helping our nation regain some level of moral sanity, and all Americans are still entitled to equal protection under the law without the in-your-face celebration of everything LGBTQ+++ throughout the month of June (and beyond).

At the same time, as followers of Jesus, we make a grave mistake if we think that any president or the government as a whole can lead the way in moral and cultural reformation. That must come from the people of God, from those who recognize that His ways are best, from those who ground their moral values in the Scriptures.

Subsequent columns focused more on religious questions than his usual social commentary:

  • June 17: As Israel battles Iran, focus on people more than prophecy
  • June 24: No, the church is not ‘spiritual Israel’
  • July 5: The vast majority of major world events are NOT prophesied in the Bible
  • July 12: If you save your life, you will lose your life

Brown’s July 17 column carried the headline “Good things take time and are worth the wait,” suggesting it might be about himself and his journey over the past several months. Alas, it’s largely about childbirth.
