Wayne Allyn Root began his July 9 WorldNetDaily column with some serious self-aggrandizement:
There are 2 things I’m known for …
1. I’m the most fiery and loyal champion, celebrator and defender of President Donald J. Trump- the greatest patriot and President of my lifetime.
2. Raw truth – I tell it like it is – no matter who it offends.
Exhibit A – I stuck my neck out and risked my career to play the role of Paul Revere, to warn the nation about the dangerous and deadly Covid vaccine from the first day. And then I spent the past four and a half years reporting on credible studies proving this is mass murder and crimes against humanity. I never let up for one second- even when my career and life were threatened. Nothing stops me from calling it as I see it.
Actually, Root is known for spreading misinformation and falsehoods and COVID and its vaccines — not to mention spreading COVID itself. He then declared that “I need to warn President Trump about trouble brewing that threatens his presidency, legacy and the future of MAGA.” After a lot of Trump-fluffing, Root finally got to the point:
I’m going to today play Paul Revere. “Big problems are coming. Big problems are coming.” President Trump has a problem, and he needs to hear about it and deal with it, before it gets out of control.
I’m referring to the announcement that there is no Epstein list.
I’m sorry, but no one is buying it. It looks silly. It looks arrogant. It looks like a cover-up. It looks like President Trump is protecting evil leaders in D.C. – who are being blackmailed by the Deep State. This is serious.
Many of President Trump’s biggest supporters are angry, shocked and disillusioned like I’ve never seen before.
They feel we can never defeat the Deep State unless this list is released. They feel this is a terrible betrayal of President Trump’s promise on the campaign trail to release the list. They think if this stands, his word can no longer be trusted.
Mr. President, please don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just telling you what MAGA nation is saying, feeling and thinking.
You promised to release the list. Pam Bondi said she was reviewing the list. Now suddenly, there is no list? Your own supporters see this as a typical D.C. conspiracy, cover-up, and the worst lie you’ve ever told. They don’t care about the reasons you have. They want it reversed N-O-W.
This problem is growing. It’s getting worse every day. You need to deal with it immediately. Your credibility is on the line.
Yep, Root has joined with the rest of WND in pushing Epstein conspiracy-mongering. He continued to fret:
The entire future of MAGA is on the line. Give a speech to the nation. Explain why what happened, happened. And then announce you’re reversing your decision.
The Epstein list must be released.
We need to hear the names. End their careers. End the blackmail. Destroy the Deep State. Cleanse the soul of our nation. Let the chips fall where they may.
MAGA and the American people will not only forgive you when they hear the dilemma you faced, they will love and support you forever more.
Because they’ll understand you are the only man in history with the cojones and integrity to reverse a decision like this.
Like the rest of WND, Root seems not to have considered the possibility that the reason Trump is blocking release of the supposed list is because he’s on it.
Bob Unruh summarized Root’s column in a July 10 article that also touted how “Washington watchdog Judicial Watch … confirms it has filed a joint status report in federal court confirming that “the Justice Department and the FBI continue to search for and review records in response to Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records regarding Jeffrey Epstein.”
Root then spent his July 19 column spinning away the Epstein stuff to suck up even more to Trump:
No, I’m not telling you to not be upset or disappointed about the Epstein decision. I am, too.
No, I’m not telling you not to complain, not to vent your anger.
I disagree with the decision, too. I urged President Donald Trump to reconsider and either release the Epstein files or name a special counselor.
And the good news is, he has responded. He just ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all grand jury testimony. That’s a smart decision.
Because this Epstein list controversy was obscuring the list that matters most: the long, superhuman list of achievements that Trump has accomplished to start his second term.
This Epstein controversy has been obscuring the fact that this has been the greatest start to any presidency in history. And a remarkable past two weeks. And even a remarkable past 24 hours. Trump is hitting home runs.
Except for Epstein.
[…]So, I’d like everyone who is still angry at President Trump over the Epstein decision to just think about what America would look like right now, and what your lives would look like right now, if Kamala Harris had been elected.
Think long and hard about this one. And then thank God for President Trump – with or without the response you want with the Epstein files.
Root then spent spent much of the rest of his column making up stuff about what a Kamala Harris presidency would be like “You might be stuck in a ’15-minute city,’ where you’d need permission from government to drive more than 15 minutes from your home.” (Root is lying.) He ranted about “transgender brainwashing in school, and transgender hiring, and transgenders in the military” and baselessly declared that “We’d already be in World War III” and “America would be a one-party state with rigged elections for the rest of all time.” Um, isn’t that what Root’s fellow right-wingers are trying to do right now?
Root concluded by literally telling Republicans to get over it: “Are you still mad at Trump? Maybe a little, but you’ll get over it. Think about the alternative. Now thank God for Trump.”
