WND Rehashes Old Column By Fake Democrat Bob Just

Posted on August 25, 2025

We’ve documented how occasional WorldNetDaily columnist Bob Just isn’t really a Democrat despite his repeated insistence that he is one — after all, no real Democrat would spend all of his time bashing his supposedly fellow Democrats and endorsing Donald Trump. For some reason, David Kupelian — who has now been apparently elevated to WND “editor-in-chief” as Joseph Farah remains indisposed because of health issues — felt the need to repeat a 2000 column by Just, complete with lame explanation:

Note from WND News Center Editor-in-Chief David Kupelian on July 25, 2025: Twenty-five years ago today, on July 25, 2000, WND published the following column by national talk-show host, Christian political activist and WND columnist Bob Just. A longtime Democrat (but the good kind), he laid out a vivid and prophetic description of exactly where the Democratic Party was heading – into hatred, corruption and a growing totalitarian obsession with party power at all costs. Though his intent was to persuade moderate Democrat leaders to fight back, his stern warning fell on deaf ears. Today, a quarter century later, Bob’s predictions have all come true, as America is now embroiled in what is often described as a “cold civil war” – a description that first saw the light of day in the following column.

Kupelian offered no evidence that Just is, in fact, an actual Democrat of either the good or bad kind. The actual column itself begins with 2000-era right-wing talking points about political correctness, followed by Just’s purported Democratic credentials:

I have been a Democrat all my life. I grew up in New York City in a staunchly Democratic middle class family. Although private-school educated (I had financial assistance thanks to Trinity School), my father was a union man, a musician with the Metropolitan Opera. My parents and stepparents were all “Roosevelt Democrats.” As a young English teacher in Montclair, New Jersey, during the Richard Nixon Watergate scandal, I drove around with a bumper sticker saying, “Don’t Blame Me I Voted for McGovern.” I was proud to be on the side of “right” as I saw it. I was proud to stand against corruption and the abuse of power.

Now, 25 years later, I am ashamed to be a Democrat. More than that, I have come to fear my own party. Hatred and corruption – the roots of fascism – are on the march in America as they have never been before, and leading this march is the Democratic Party. Increasingly, mainstream Democrats are uncomfortable with what we see in our party. We may not have a real name for it, but we know it is dangerous.

[…]

What we are dealing with here has nothing to do with American politics. In fact, I worry that as the Democrats increasingly adopt fascist tactics they will cease being a genuine political party, focused on honest debate and decision by fair ballot. They could become one day something more related to the fascists of 1930s Germany. The SA “brown shirts” were not interested in debate and civil rule; they wanted power in order to force the democratic nation to accept their Nazi agenda. If I am right about the fanatical direction my party is taking, then America has never faced a danger like this, and real Democrats who stand by and watch will be as guilty before history as the actual leaders of this corruption movement.

Meanwhile, Just nor Kupelian have yet to express any concern whatsoever about the corruption and fascism happening today in Donald Trump’s Republican Party — apparently, they are content to stand by and allow themselves to be guilty before history.

Just went on to allege that Democrats are “provoking anger and fomenting hate – all with a purpose of getting millions of Americans to fear Republicans, or any other opposing party.” Sounds like what Kupelian and WND are doing in the opposite direct direction, provoking anger and fomenting hate to get Americans to fear Democrats. Just concluded by declaring:

Right now we have two parties that are becoming like two different countries – which are increasingly acting like enemies. God forbid it, and please make us again one nation, a shining city on a hill for all the world to see, where love can reign and truth prevail, and where freedom can be enjoyed by all.

Again, Just and Kupelian are silent about the tendencies Just ascribes to Democrats actually happening right now in the Republican Party.
