Newsmax’s campaign to fawn over Melania Trump continued to the documentary film released about her earlier this year. A paywalled Jan. 21 article by Carly Mayberry pointed out that the film’s director, Brett Ratner, was an ” embattled director” Brett Ratner.” who had been “accused by several women of sexual misconduct” and was making his “directorial return” with the film.
A Jan. 24 wire article gushed that “First lady Melania Trump will host a private White House screening on Saturday of a new film documenting her life in the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.” That was joined by an article by Nicole Weatherholtz gushing further:
First lady Melania Trump will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Jan. 28, marking the official start of trading for the day.
The appearance was confirmed by the Office of the First Lady at the White House, which said that Trump will attend the ceremony following an “impactful first year of leadership” in the Trump administration’s second term.
[…]Trump’s visit comes as her husband’s administration continues to emphasize economic growth, American business leadership and confidence in U.S. markets.
Senior administration officials have pointed to Wall Street stability and investor optimism as key indicators of the broader economic outlook.
When Melania made her appearance, it was Eric Mack’s turn to gush in a Jan. 28 article:
First lady Melania Trump appeared at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday morning, delivering remarks ahead of ringing the opening bell to highlight the upcoming “Melania” theater release, a documentary storytelling of “the 20 days leading up to the inauguration.”
“Tales of redemption, sad stories, love stories, and funny stories,” Melania Trump said in brief remarks before ringing the opening bell.
“We want to feel human. My new film, ‘Melania,’ provides a window into an important period for America: the 47th presidential inauguration.
“For the first time in history, people will witness the 20 days leading up to the inauguration through the eyes of an incoming first lady.”
“Melania” will be released in theaters Friday, just over a year after President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
The same day, Zoe Papadakis made her contribution:
Conor McGregor has publicly endorsed an upcoming documentary about Melania Trump, adding his support to a $75 million project preparing for a wide global release.
The former UFC champion drew attention after reposting promotional material for “Melania” on his X account.
Alongside the post, McGregor added a brief comment: “Very excited to watch this!”
Interestingly, Papadakis added:
The documentary has an unusually large budget for a nonfiction release.
Amazon MGM Studios acquired the film for a reported $40 million and committed an additional $35 million to its global theatrical rollout, according to Marca.
[…]Early box office projections suggest modest returns despite the film’s large budget.
That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the film.
