The Media Research Center just loves to complain that non-right-wing media outlets liken the Trump administration to Nazis — even while it smears critics it doesn’t like as “digital brownshirts.” More examples over the past couple of years:

As if his stance couldn’t get more insane, he compared the DOJ to a “legal brownshirt militia.”
The “brownshirts” were a paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party that quite literally facilitated the killing of political opponents. Quite the egregious stretch when you realize the DOJ was just investigating if a publicly funded university was choosing to hire people based on race instead of actual qualifications.
Again: He said this as his fellow MRCers were likening people to “digital brownshirts.”
Alex Christy complained in a Nov. 15 post:
At 7:00 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, MSNBC officially rebranded to MS Now, and before lunchtime it had already hurled its first Nazi comparison. The offending party was Prof. Jason Stanley, who told Ali Velshi that local police departments need to thwart ICE just like a local policeman thwarted the SA, or Brownshirts, during Kristallnacht in Nazi Germany.
Neither Christy, nor Seck made any mention of their employer using the same brownshirt comparison against others.
