WND Continued To Rage At Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, Hype Right-Wing Alternative

Posted on April 23, 2026

WorldNetDaily’s hyping of the right-wing Super Bowl alternative halftime show continued after the fact in a Feb. 9 article by Joe Kovacs:

The National Football League as well as the entertainment industry and advertisers are said to be “panicking” over the staggering size of the All-American Super Bowl Halftime Show produced by Turning Point USA, which was an alternative to the Spanish-language Bad Bunny show broadcast by the NFL.

Bestselling author Jack Posobiec, who welcomed viewers to the patriotic alternative and dedicated it to slain civil-rights leader Charlie Kirk, revealed on “The Benny Show” Monday that the preliminary estimates of 25 million views of the TPUSA show headlined by Kid Rock are likely to go much higher.

“The 25 million number that has come out already, that’s just from the main YouTube and Rumble streams. So that’s just crunching the numbers there,” Posobiec explained. “We’ve already got, just YouTube alone, Turning Point’s main stream, 6.17 (million), and the one seven is significant because the previous No. 2 YouTube livestream of all time was 6.15 (million).”

“It boggles the mind to even think about those kind of numbers,” he added. “We might see 40 (million), we might see 50 (million), the sky is really the limit because we have so many partners. And then we haven’t even gotten to X and so many people were re-streaming it and putting it out there. So we are going to see a staggering number of views on this.”

In fact, the show drew only about 6.1 million concurrent viewers, a small fraction of the 133 milllion viewers who watched Bad Bunny’s halftime show at the Super Bowl.

The same day, Bob Unruh wrote:

The National Football League picked Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, a.k.a. Bad Bunny, whose main claim to fame at this point appears to be his leftist and anti-Trump politics, to do the weekend’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Reports from social media platforms and others the day after confirmed advertisers paying league premiums for having their products and services presented to the usual 100 million or so viewers of the game saw their audience plunge by 20% or more, because of a patriotic alternative organized by Turning Point USA.

But there was another presentation, albeit short, that went online just before Ocasio appeared, that is being described as “epic.”

It was a White House video that RedState said, was “unapologetically American” and an “epic” “smackdown to “counter Bad Bunny.”

Despite pointing Bad Bunny’s real name, Unruh couldn’t be bothered to note that Kid Rock’s real name is Robert Ritchie.

Unruh returned to rage in a Feb. 10 article:

U.S. Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., has called on the Federal Communications Commission, which regulates the use of the public airwaves in the United States, to take action against the National Football League and Super Bowl halftime showman Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, a.k.a. Bad Bunny, for violating the law.

“You can’t say the f-word on live TV. ‘Bad Bunny’s’ disgusting halftime show was illegal. Had he said these lyrics — and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous. Puerto Ricans are Americans and we all live by the same rules. We are sending @BrendanCarrFCC a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the @NFL, @nbc, and “Bad Bunny.” Lock them up,” Fine said on social media.

Attached to his statement was an English translation of the horrific lyrics in the songs used during Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime, which, while got huge numbers of views, also lost out on estimates of at least 25 million to Turning Point USA’s alternative halftime show that appeared on social media and other channels.

Unruh gave no indications that offensive words said in another language on TV could violate broadcast standards, and he didn’t question how Fine got the translated lyrics, since lacking Hispanic heritage he likely could not translate them himself. And again, Unruh repeated Bad Bunny’s real name while being silent on Kid Rock’s real name.
