WorldNetDaily has never liked Rep. Jasmine Crockett for committing the offense of being a non-right-wing black woman. For instance, a Sept. 2 article by Joe Kovacs accused her of using a “fake ghetto” accent, featuring right-wing activist Laura Loomer smearing her as “a literal hood rat.” So when Crockett lost the Democratic primary in March, WND was unsurprisingly — and unironically — pleased. Kovacs wrote in a March 4 article:
U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett is now alleging Republican rigging in connection with her loss to Texas State Rep. James Talarico in the Democrat primary for U.S. Senate in the Lone Star State.
“Unfortunately, this is what Republicans like to do. And so they specifically targeted Dallas County, and I think we all know why,” Crockett told supporters.
Crockett was apparently upset about a rule change requiring voters to cast ballots at their assigned precincts instead of voting at any polling location of their choice.
No mention, of course, of the gerrymandering Texas Republicans did there last year.
Later that day, an anonymously written article chortled about “hilarious memes featuring what the fiery congresswoman might do for gainful employment in the future,” which included her “hawking chicken at Popeye’s along with mopping floors and working at Walmart.” We suspect WND would not be treating Crockett this way if she was white and right-wing.
