We’ve pointed out how WorldNetDaily doesn’t seem too interested in finding out whether columnist Hamid Enayat is who he says he is — important given that he shares a name with an Iranian scholar who died in 1982 and, thus, may be an imposter pushing right-wing takes on President Trump’s war against Iran. But WND is not the only ConWeb outlet with this issue.
Newsmax also publishes Enayat’s column and, like WND, has done so since April 2025 — though, oddly, it has published fewer columns from him this year than WND has. But like WND, Newsmax is not eager to verify Enayat’s identity. He has a social media account on X, but it is in French, which suggests that the English in which his columns appear is not his native language.
Why does the current identity of Enayat use the name of a man who died more than 40 years ago? Newsmax does not seem eager to find out the answer to this question — after all, it presumably doesn’t want to lose a pro-Trump columnist.
