Don Feder started his May 6 WorldNetDaily column by ranting:
Democrats are waging a scorched-earth campaign to destroy representative government in the name of saving democracy.
They want political issues settled in the streets with bullhorns, placards and Molotov cocktails. “Burn Tesla, burn!”
An illegal alien gang member, wife beater and suspected human trafficker who was repatriated to El Salvador has become the Democrats’ latest cause celebre.
That’s a reference to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who has not been proven to be any of those things. This was followed by more ranting including about “Billionaire Bolshevik George Soros” and a complaint that “articles of impeachment have been filed against the president. It took less than 100 days into his second term. Call it election nullification.” Feder didn’t mention that far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed articles of impeachment against President Biden the day after his inauguration, presumably because he didn’t want to have to explain why that wasn’t also election nullification. Feder concluded with one final rant:
Our national survival is at stake. If we allow the left to make the country ungovernable, America is doomed. Welcome to the Weimar Republic, with the Liberal Reich right around the corner.
Wait — hasn’t WND managing editor David Kupelian repeatedly told us that likening people to Nazis is a bad thing? Yes, he has. We will be awaiting his explanation for how Feder’s going Godwin slipping through the editing process in apparent violation of WND editorial policy. We’re not sure how it could have been missed, given that it’s also right in the headline: “Democrats’ Liberal Reich is right around the corner.”
Wait again: Is Feder likening the Trump administration to the Weimar Republic? It was actually a progressive democracy with a vibrant arts culture, none of which can be said about Trump’s America.
