NewsBusters’ Double Standard on Media Outlet Operator Bias

Posted on February 24, 2012

In a Feb. 22 NewsBusters post — headlined “Bias Alert” — Scott Whitlock is upset at the idea that Ed Rendell, former Pennsylvania governor and former head of the Democratic National Committee, is part of an investor group looking to purchase the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. Whitlock approvingly quotes a former Inquirer employee saying that if the sale goes through, “Essentially, the Inquirer will cease to exist as a legitimate newspaper.”

By that same standard, Fox News is not a legitimate news outlet because it was created and is being run by a former Republican operative, Roger Ailes.

Don’t expect Whitlock or anyone else at the Media Research Center to concede that little truth.
