Newsmax Still Unhappy Over Mamdani’s Election Victory

Posted on January 2, 2026

Newsmax continued to freak out over Zohran Mamdani’s win as mayor of New York City, with a particular emphasis on his purported anti-Semitism:

  • ADL Launches ‘Mamdani Monitor’ Amid Fears of Antisemitism
  • Trump: We Must Choose Communism or Common Sense
  • FDNY Commissioner Resigning After Mamdani’s NYC Election Win
  • Rep. Carter Pushes ‘Mamdani Act’ to Block NYC Funds
  • Dershowitz to Newsmax: Mamdani ‘Enemy of America’
  • Former NYPD Commissioner to Newsmax: Mamdani Poised to Shrink NYPD
  • Rep. Stefanik to Newsmax: As Governor, I Would Keep Mamdani in Check
  • Jon Voight Warns Mamdani Will ‘Destroy’ New York

On toop of that, a Nov. 4 “news” article by Michael Katz declared that Mamdani’s win ” upended decades of establishment dominance in city politics,” while adding that ‘critics warn his expansive spending plans could drive out businesses and accelerate New York’s fiscal decline.”

Rob Taub continued in a Nov. 14 column:

New York City – for all its flaws and annoyances – has been my home for 50 years. I won’t be frightened or chased away by a snake oil salesman promising – well – free snake oil.

Zohran Mamdani has promised dignity for all, yet he lacks any respect for those he needs to supply the necessary financial support for his unattainable vision.

Life is hard, and at one time or another, everyone struggles, be it emotionally, physically, or financially.

Blaming society’s indignities on a specific class of people and then offering the government as a vessel to funnel their prosperity to everyone is more than a dream – it’s a fantasy.

If Zohran Mamdani truly wishes New York City to thrive, he must engage with the business leaders, corporations, and taxpayers who fund the budget that drives our city.

Since he promises dignity for all, then Mamdani should find some of his own, by showing respect for the people he relentlessly derides and condemns, as they always have and will continue to sustain us.

New York City is more than 400 years old and will endure long after Zohran Mamdani’s brief tenure. If he fails to respect this remarkable opportunity, it’s his loss, not ours.

The same day, meanwhile, John and Jim McLaughlin started their column with a more reality-thethered view of the election and the midterms as a whole:

Except for suburban New York’s Nassau County, the hard truth about the 2025 elections is this: millions of Trump voters stayed home — and Republicans lost significantly.

Republican campaigns, super PACs, and nonprofits spent tens of millions of dollars, yet our candidates and our party still fell short.

While many of the 2025 contests were initially favorable to Democrats, that cannot be our excuse.

Still, the McLaughlins continued to push their “proven” formula:

—Turn out the Trump 2024 voters.

—Contrast our record with the Democratic radicals.

—Use the Nassau County model.

They added: “It can work nationwide in 2026 if the GOP has the guts to do it.”
