WorldNetDaily continued peddling the government narrative on the death of Renee Good in a Jan. 13 article by Joe Kovacs:
Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who fatally shot anti-ICE agitator Renee Good in Minneapolis last week is now “in hiding” for safety reasons as Americans are donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to support him.
President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, appeared on “Will Cain Country” Tuesday, four days after a federal Special Response Team swarmed the agent’s Minnesota home to remove his belongings, according to the Daily Mail.
When Cain told Homan ICE agents should take legal action against top leftists for defamation, Homan indicated that was a likelihood, and then discussed the case of Ross.
“I think things are so bad now, Will, you’re going to see that start happening,” Homan said. “For this agent that was involved in the shooting, I think he’s going to wait for this investigation to play itself out and wait for them to come out with actual facts, what happened.”
“Then I think you may see him take action because I know for a fact now he has to be in hiding. I seen a post this morning on the way to the studio here with his picture, ‘wanted for murder.’ It’s beyond the pale. So I think you’re going to see more of that happening now.”
[…]Ross has been hounded by leftist activists after firing a bullet through Good’s windshield, in an apparent case of self-defense, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
And now, many Americans are rallying to Ross’ cause, with numerous fundraising pages set up on GoFundMe.
“He is currently living in fear, uncertain of what his future holds. And he needs to know his fellow Americans are here to support him,” says one fundraising page set up by Frontline Patriots. A gofundme was organized for Mrs. Good raising nearly 1.5 million dollars. If a select few radicals can raise this amount of money to support a would be assassin, the rest of us red blooded Americans can surely beat that.”
Kovacs made no effort to fact-check the claim Good was a “would-be assassin” — in fact, video evidence shows Good was not trying to run over the agents.
Kovacs continued his pro-government stenography the next day:
The ICE agent who fatally shot ant-ICE activist Renee Good in Minneapolis last week during an alleged car-ramming “suffered internal bleeding to the torso,” according to multiple officials speaking to several broadcast networks on Wednesday.
CBS News reports: “The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who fatally shot Renee Good last week in Minneapolis, Jonathan Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident, according to two U.S. officials briefed on his medical condition.
“It was unclear how extensive the bleeding was. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Ross’ injury, but has not yet responded to CBS News’ requests for more information.”
Kovacs made no attempt to fact-check this claim — it was apparently good enough for him that a Trump official said it.
Kovacs used another Jan. 14 article to complain further:
With Minneapolis, Minnesota, remaining Ground Zero for anti-ICE attacks in the wake of the killing of leftist activist Renee Good by an ICE officer last week, there are now reports that up to 70 city police officers are now seeking paid leave as morale is said to be at an “all-time low.”
“We’re hearing from multiple sources that dozens of Minneapolis police officers (60-70 so far) have turned in paperwork for Minnesota’s new paid leave program,” reports Liz Collin of Alpha News.
“It allows up to 20 weeks of paid leave for personal or family reasons and comes at a time when morale is said to be at an ‘all-time low.'”
