The Media Research Center continues to suffer from Michelle Obama Derangement Syndrome. last May, Justine Brooke Murray raged at “affluent middle-aged women… more specifically, the pipeline from prima donna to self-congratulating couch mumbler,” adding: “From Meghan Markle to Michelle Obama, this episode of ‘Woke of the Weak’ parades out the woke women of the out-of-touch kumbaya class.” Later that month, she raged against Obama again:
There’s no topic former First Lady and professional victim Michelle Obama doesn’t know how to make about herself.
That’s the entire point of her podcast, which subjects anyone who will listen to her hour-long yammering and self-adulation. But her latest episode takes her narcissism and disregard for others to an extreme level that would even make Meghan Markle blush in embarrassment.
Murray concluded: “Being her is just so tough!”, joining the right-wingers who melted down over Obama’s thoughts on childbirth.
Alex Christy served up his own Michelle derangement in a Jan. 22 post:
The American people have, once again, disappointed former First Lady Michelle Obama. Recently, Obama told podcaster Alex Cooper that the country is “not ready” for a female president, but based on CNN’s reaction on Wednesday’s Erin Burnett OutFront, CNN is ready for Obama herself to be president.
Burnett reacted to Obama’s comments with Harry Enten, who is usually CNN’s energetic polling data nerd. However, for this particular segment, Burnett asked, “So, Harry. Okay. Can you prove her wrong? I mean, what are the numbers say to Michelle Obama?”
[…]Burnett wondered about Obama, “All right. So, Michelle Obama, obviously, was extremely popular when she was first lady. And we all remember, you know, her fans wanted her to run herself for president. So, what about now as she has taken on, she was very quiet along with her husband for a while now, taking a different role. Podcasts, things like that.”
Enten agreed, “Yeah. I would tell you in terms of popular figures in this country, she’s the most popular.”
That’s because most people do not view her as a partisan politician, but that would change if she ever decided to run for office.
Obviously, Christy is among the right-wingers who view Michelle as a partisan politician regardless of whether she runs in 2028. He went on to huff:
According to these historians, liberal heroes make up three of the top four first ladies ever. If you were to expand the survey, Sienna put six Democrats in the top ten including Hillary Clinton, three from the founding era, and only one Republican: liberal Betty Ford. Nancy Reagan placed 15th and Melania Trump placed dead last. The most recent survey occurred before Jill Biden became first lady, but it is impossible to imagine this group ranking her beneath Melania.
Even if Obama wants to run for president, she probably wouldn’t get very far. Starting your campaign by attacking the voters’ character is usually a guaranteed way to fail and no amount of CNN spin can change that.
It seems that Christy is mad that nobody regards Melania as highly as he does.

Alexander Hall at Fox News Digital reported that Michelle Obama found another for all her complaints about how America has failed her — the “Call Her Daddy” podcast where they used to talk all about hot sex. This time, Michelle unloaded on the media, which has treated her like an American goddess, the black Jackie O with a law degree.
Michelle is on a book tour promoting her $50 coffee-table book of photographs, The Look, “a stunning journey through Michelle Obama’s style evolution.” But she’s claiming the shallow media dismissed her as a woman as she and Barack ascended to the White House. This is, to be blunt, a lie. She was adored. They talked about her clothes, and her wonderful bare arms — and her law career, and her smarts.

The liberal media could have introduced Obama as the jerk who said she’d never been proud of America until they considered her husband for president. CNN’s Alina Cho in January 2008 was one of many adorers, and she started with the education and the professional career — after repeating that the Obama campaign called her their “secret weapon.”
In that link, Matthew Balan declared that Cho omitted “there might be negative side to Michelle Obama’s participation in her husband campaign. Less than two months ago, during an interview which aired on MSNBC, Mrs. Obama basically claimed, as Mark Finkelstein put it, that America will have no one to blame but itself if it doesn’t seize the opportunity to elect Barack Obama” — demonstrating that the MRC was ready and eager to trash her for whatever reason. Indeed, it smeared her as claiming that “Michelle’s gonna fight obesity thru hip-hop — a music who’s arguably most famous lyric is I like big butts,'” and it trashed her 2016 speech at the Democatic National Convention, and Graham himself has portrayed her as an “angry black woman.”
Graham also failed to disclose that Hall is a former MRC employee.
