WND’s Unruh Misinforms Again About COVID Vaccines

Posted on July 23, 2026

Bob Unruh kept up his misinformation about COVID vaccines in a May 13 WorldNetDaily article:

From a stunning report that confirms, again, skeptics’ concerns over the deadly impact of the COVID-19 shots created by pharmaceutical companies and sold for billions of dollars to the American government during the pandemic, it’s known that federal officials linked those shots to child deaths at the time – and the Biden administration kept it a secret.

Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge has reported online the Joe Biden administration “suppressed” details about COVID shot pediatric deaths as well as the total death count.

She cited a study done on children who died, of which a number died of the effects “possibly” or “probably” related to the COVID shots.

But Unruh is vastly overstating the purported threat from the vaccines. As a less biased publication noted:

Five deaths were “possibly” related to the shots, and two were “probably” related, according to the analysis, which was dated Dec. 5, 2025. There were no deaths that were “certain” to be related to the shots.

The review also noted that more than 95 million doses of Pfizer’s Comirnaty and more than 42 million doses of Moderna’s Spikevax had been given to kids under age 12 by Aug. 14, 2025, the cutoff date for the review.

[…]

Medical officers reviewed and discussed each individual case, including any available medical records and autopsy reports. Causality assessment was based on group discussion and consensus using the WHO’s Uppsala Monitoring Centre system for standardized case causality assessment. Cases were classified as certain; probable/likely; possible; unlikely; or conditional/unassessable. Autopsy reports were available for all seven possible/probable cases.

The five “possible” and two “probable” cases involved cardiac events; most were myocarditis (4) or myocarditis with stress cardiomyopathy (1). The other cases described cardiomyopathy without myocarditis (1) and cardiac arrhythmia (1).

Given that  more than 95 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine and more than 42 million doses of Moderna’s vaccine had been given to kids under age 12 through mid-2025, it seems like the vaccines were, in fact, generally safe. Still, Unruh insisted on treating such “possible” and “probable” numbers as indisputable evidence of vaccine-caused deaths:

A RedState commentary by Ben Smith elaborated.

“While the Biden administration was telling parents the COVID vaccines were safe for their children, its own FDA (Food and Drug Administration) doctors were quietly reviewing files on 96 dead kids and concluding that some of them had probably been killed by the shots.”

[…]

Smith’s report said of the evidence, “The key document is a December 5, 2025, FDA memorandum. It covers 96 pediatric deaths following COVID-19 vaccination reported to VAERS, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, a federal database where patients and doctors report side effects following vaccination. FDA medical officers reviewed every case, including autopsy reports, death certificates, and medical records, and classified seven as ‘possibly’ or ‘probably’ related to the vaccine. Five of those seven deaths involved myocarditis.”

Those fatal cases actually were “new safety information” under federal law, but the report said it never was added to the shots’ labels.

[…]

Further, he noted, “Those 96 deaths are almost certainly a fraction of the real toll. An HHS-commissioned Harvard study found that fewer than one percent of vaccine adverse events are ever reported to VAERS.”

He also confirmed that the patients treated from injuries from COVID shots “were allegedly told to stay quiet, promised that a study would eventually be published acknowledging what had happened to them. That study was never published. Their injuries were never officially acknowledged.”

Unruh apparently didn’t bother to fact-check the RedState report. Unruh also refused to refer to the vaccines as vaccines, referring to them only as “shots” — making it falsely appear that doctors were giving these children COVID.
