Frank Pavone was defrocked as a Catholic priest for his right-wing anti-abortion zealotry — though Newsmax insisted on gracing him with the defunct “Father” title for some time afterward — and it appears Pavone is veering into Don Feder “demographic winter” territory in his May 28 column:
Through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Biden issued privacy rules to protect women who crossed state lines from abortion-free states to abortion-friendly states.
But Biden’s most destructive action was to change the rules on how deadly abortion pills can be prescribed and distributed, allowing them to be ordered online and sent through the mail.
Seemingly, every week, we read stories about reluctant fathers ordering pills online, having them mailed right to their homes and then forcing their pregnant wives or girlfriends to take them, killing their wanted babies.
Women’s health and safety was not a concern for the Biden pro-abortion-rights administration.
Ensuring that abortion would continue despite the protections anti-abortion lawmakers put in place in more than a dozen states was the top priority of Biden and his henchman, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris and Health Commissioner Xavier Becerra.
The U.S. went from enjoying the anti-abortion priorities of President Donald Trump’s first term to the “abortion is always the right choice” Biden years.
But under the commonsense governance of President Trump, sanity has once again prevailed. The second Trump term is already marked by numerous anti-abortion accomplishments, including ending Medicaid reimbursement to abortion cartels, shutting off other rivers of our money into the abortion industry, dissociating the United States from powerful and destructive pro-abortion international organizations, and ordering the FDA to do a much-needed study of the dangers of the abortion pill mifepristone.
On Mother’s Day, the president solidified his commitment to women and families when he launched a website – Moms.gov – that’s devoted to helping mothers choose life.
Under the jurisdiction of HHS, Moms.gov is a federal resource hub for new and expecting mothers and is designed to provide information about pregnancy, maternal health, parenting, nutrition, breastfeeding, mental health, adoption, and family support services.
The goal of the platform is to support healthy pregnancies, improve maternal well-being and connect families with financial and other resources.
It’s the opposite of the Biden abortion website, which the Trump administration swiftly took down after his inauguration.
Pavone really started channeling Feder toward the end of his column:
The U.S. is currently experiencing a baby drought, with our “replacement rate” falling well below where it needs to be.
The replacement rate is the number of children needed to replenish a population from one generation to the next.
For the U.S., the number is 2.1. As of last year, women were having only 1.57 babies.
Dropping fertility rates can create serious economic and social challenges.
As fewer children are born, populations age, increasing pressure on healthcare systems, pensions, and elder-care services.
A smaller working-age population may lead to labor shortagesand slower economic growth. Social Security needs young people working and contributing so monthly payments can continue to retirees who have paid into the fund throughout their working lives.
Rural communities can be hurt by falling fertility because fewer children mean fewer schools, and an added incentive for young people to move to urban centers.
Lower fertility can also affect military strength.
In short, a nation needs babies and Moms.gov is an important first step in helping to make parenthood a reality for more Americans.
Pavone didn’t explain why he won’t trust women to make the bets decision for their pregnancy, or why he apparently thinks women need to be deceived into having children by right-wing pregnancy centers.
