Alan Dershowitz is still annoyed that nobody wants to call him for testimony about Jeffrey Epstein, as he begged for someone, anyone to call on him in a May 29 Newsmax TV appearance:
Attorney Alan Dershowitz said Friday that congressional investigators examining the Jeffrey Epstein case are avoiding witnesses who could provide firsthand information, arguing that lawmakers are more interested in political theater than uncovering the facts.
Appearing on Newsmax’s “The Record With Greta Van Susteren,” Dershowitz criticized the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s efforts to examine the federal government’s handling of the Epstein investigation and related records.
When asked why investigators had not sought his testimony, Dershowitz said it was “because they don’t want to get to the truth.”
“If they wanted to get to the truth, they would call people like me.”
Dershowitz, a Harvard Law School professor emeritus who previously represented Epstein, said he would be willing to testify before Congress.
“I indicated a willingness to testify without invoking any privileges, without claiming any reason not to answer,” he said. “I know the truth about what happened between, say, 2008 and 2010.”
Dershowitz said public perceptions of the Epstein scandal have become distorted and allegations against Epstein’s associates have often been overstated.
Perhaps Dershowitz is the one who is understating Epstein because he was a former client.

Surprisingly, Dershowitz also went after his fellow right-wingers for their anti-Semitic tilt in a June 8 column:
Take for example Tucker Carlson, who when he was at Fox News didn’t express the bigoted views he now promotes – at least not publicly.
Before becoming the “antisemite of the year” (according to a monitoring group) and capitalizing on his newfound bigotry, Carlson had condemned antisemitism as an evil.
I have no idea whether he was hiding his actual bigotry to keep his job at Fox. But after he was fired, he began to look for a new audience.
He selected the rapidly increasing right-wing anti-Israel fringe of the Republican Party that shared some of the nativist and isolationist views he already held.
[…]Similarly, Candace Owens has increased her clicks – and her income – by becoming more extreme in her anti-Israel and anti-Jewish bigotry. Other podcasters, comedians, and influencers have followed suit, recognizing that Jew hatred is good for business.
David Chapelle, Michael Che, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Theo Von have faced criticism for either incorporating antisemitic tropes into their content or providing a platform to individuals who promote those views.
Dershowitz didn’t explain why he waited so long to criticize his ideological fellow travelers, but he did conclude: “As long as Jew hatred remains good for business, as it did in Germany in the 1930s, in many Arab countries in the 1950s, and in Europe and parts of the United States today, it will get worse.”
